Confused ? I was too but this is a great tool
So I was confused by the instructions because of the round plastic shroud and most of the videos I have seen of these cutters being used.Knowing I could confidently put a round block in a round hole and a square block in a square hole as a child, I noticed there was no round anything on the cutters themselves for the round thing on the sheer guides. After looking up a bit more on here I saw that these were not the “corrugated” metal cutters, which does have the round part built on the sheets themselves. For me, this is acceptable enough. I know Malco products are quality because I own other tools of theirs and quite frankly all I needed was something to keep the cutters from spinning so I could use the cutters one handed. That being said. I think you could probably use a large rubber band or come up with another way to keep the cutting attachment from spinning if you wanted.Or you could spend the extra $50 to get the corrugated cutters which would allow you to switch from left cut to right cut.I’m a little irritated I guess but not enough to return them to get the round one.Just take your time when ordering this IF being able to switch cutting directions ( basically from red to green) means something to you.I’m a big believer that having the right tools, the right quality tools, makes the difference. If I’m going to buy it I’m going to get the best there is to make my job as easy as possible.Plus malco is a reputable company who makes quality tools. I have yet to order ANYTHING from malco and be disappointed. Which is a great feeling.

Easier than snips
Ordered because I saw a coworker had 1. Thought it was neat. Still getting the hang of it. But really makes cutting tin sheets for ductwork easier than using snips. Has directions somewhere about adjusting the blades depending thickness of metal .. Glad I bought

Works great!
Works great with my Milwaukee drill. Easy to use, even for my 70 year old mother! It was used to cut corrugated steel roofing panels. Works better with two people, but one person can manage it.

it does the job
i ordered this tool because i was covering a shed with sheet metal (corrogated) and had many odd pieces to cut. i was also cutting flashing pieces from some old ductwork to use around windows and doors. the Malco tool did this well enough.it does slightly mar one side of the cut and tends to leave that edge a bit wavy as well. also, it takes a bit of practice to choose the correct blade angle as you cut up and down the corrogations when crosscutting -- i soon developed a movement pattern and learned to go slower. but these shortcomings didn't matter in my application because the material was used tin off an older barn and used ducting. for my money, this was a very good buy. the tool is very high quality and will last years for my purposes.i was using it with a makita 18v battery drill/driver and that combination works fine.

If you're looking to cut bent metal, I suggest a nibbler. For flat, it's awesome
I purchased the sheers drill attachment after seeing a video about the "new" dewalt sheer attachment. I read the reviews about the dewalt and several made comments about durability. "When the dewalt doesn't hold up, buy Malco" . So I checked out the reviews on them. I got to use them today for the first time. They are awesome. They ripped through the metal I was cutting like butter (not sure the gage but to put a crease in it, I need a hammer. I can't just fold it and smash it down). My advice would be to look for the upgraded model though. It comes with the drill clamp that makes it one handed. Without the drill clamp you have to hold the handle on the sheers also. You can however buy a after market drill clamp that works, which is what I did. I would buy this product again since I already have a drill clamp.

Works great on hardwire cloth
This worked great cutting hardwire chicken cloth for the chicken coupe I built for my daughter. Saved so much time and my hands from cutting it with tin snips.Tip and trick. Make sure that the wire is on the bottom when you cut it and it will ride along it and cut the top wires clean at the edge!
