ADVANCED ELEMENTS Island Voyage 2 Inflatable Kayak

I was researching a lot of different inflatable kayaks for local Waters here in Ohio. Mainly some local shallow rivers. My concerns mostly we're related to the skegs or fins underneath whether they were removable or not. The river original I bought this for was pretty shallow and spots and was concerned on damaging or losing a fin. So the next big question was how well will it track without the fin. Watch videos on other manufacturers and decided to get this. So very happy that I did. This thing is absolutely awesome, very comfortable and surprisingly without the fin tracks better than some hard plastic kayaks. Was very pleasantly impressed with the performance of this I would definitely recommend

After months of research on many inflatable kayaks we decided to purchase the Advanced Elements kayaks. We have been very pleased with them. They are easy to inflate taking about 5 minutes with our hand pump. While they don't track quite as well as hard shell kayaks, the detachable skegg/rudder helps tremendously. We paddle mainly in lakes and small rivers. The kayaks are easy to get in and out of and the seats are extremely comfortable. There are two cup holders on the back of each seat and several rings and velcro straps for securing dry bags, etc.They are lightweight and pack up easily into their bags when dry. We have found that it's a good idea to dry them with a towel when we take them out of the water prior to deflating. When we get home we partially inflate again and lay them on our garage floor overnight to completely dry out before putting them away in their storage bags.

So I have had this for a year now and still like it a lot. It is easy to inflate/deflate and great on lakes. I have a hand pump which takes about 5 minutes or so to pump this up all the way. The seats are comfortable though I feel like I sit a bit low so I use a stadium seat cushion as well. The only drawback is the skeg. It does not work well in rivers (well shallow Arizona rivers) so you have to take it off. This does make the tracking so-so, but I made it through rapids fine. However I lost one skeg--ordered another and the pin that holds it on came off so now I can't use it. There are no replacements for just the pin. Still haven't figured out how I can fix that. I like the removable seats so I can paddle alone or take my grandkids out. Good way to introduce them to kayaking. It does dry pretty quickly, but do not leave it inflated for drying. Despite the skeg issue I would recommend this brand. Very well made and sturdy kayak.

So when I first got my package the box was damaged and I pulled everything apart to see the extent of the damage. The kayak itself was okay. No punctures. So thats something the company should be concerned for.As far as the kayak itself? WOW! This little thing is amazing! Super easy to set up just the pumping of course takes time. The pockets on the back of the seats are super helpful for drinks or snacks.But so far so good, And if I continue to have no issues with this product I would love to buy another one.

Been adventuring with this kayak for a couple of months now and love it. Easy to pack with a small form factor. Tough and load friendly. My only gripe is the clean factor. All kinds of dirt seems to stick unusually well to the fabric and quick mold growth is an issue only on the inside floor fabric. When i say quickly i mean overnight quick. I had the yak stored in the back of my SUV after a day trip for 6 hours due to my circumstances and mold took hold. It was very surprising. I am an avid outdoorsman and keeping my gear clean and on the ready is a religion for me. Any tips regarding this issue would be appreciated.

This inflatable is absolutely wonderful! Very, very stable - I was really surprised at just how stable it was! I have rented hard sided kayaks and this product was by far more stable than they were. The sides are the perfect height as well. I would recommend using long paddles since the width seems to call for that.Very good product Advanced Elements!

Love them! We have used them every weekend since we purchased them. They are easy to set up and take down. We usually have a few passers by who stop to ask about them. Everyone comments on how they look like really nice inflatable kayaks. And we would agree. Our daughters love to go out and explore, we love the family time!

Good kayak. Be aware that you can't leave the kayak inflated in the summer outside according to the manufacturer or it can expand and burst. This hasn't happened to mine. I just made sure to call and ask them for further info on care instructions. :)

Very impressed with this Kayak. Appears to be made of quality materials (time will tell). Very easy to prepare and pack up. Just about 10 minutes each way. Very easy to get into and out of. Stable in the water. A little tight for two large paddlers - both of us are over 6 feet! Tracks well with the fin in, not good without. Spares only available via USA, we broke the fin crossing rocks in shallow water to find that out.

Excellent kayak. First time owning and felt very stable. Material is strong yet easy to inflate. Approx 10 mins from taking out the bag.

Great product! Has high quality build. Tested in the sea! Very well balanced.

Easy to transport in the car, easy to inflate, very stable, even my wife loves it.
