Gorgeous sound makes the price acceptable
Mackie SRM 15 V-class is absolutely awesome. This powered speaker has enough power to fill a small bar with beautiful clean sound. It's a nice touch to be able to connect to it via Bluetooth and be able to play music from phone when band isn't playing. I've used it with 4 different configurations (2 mic'd instruments from Mackie VLZ4, 8 mic'd instruments from Behringer x32 rack, a mic + guitar going directly into two inputs on the speaker, and bluetooth from phone) and have been happy with the sound with all of them. It's expensive compared to other powered speakers (seriously considered getting the 15" Mackie Thump), but we decided to splurge to get the extra 700W and we have been very happy with the sound. The speaker would be an excellent part of a venue sound reinforcement system, and also would be perfect for a solo performer using a guitar and mic in a coffee shop setting. So easy to set up. Just plug in to power, plug XLR or 1/4" cables in and you are good to go. I haven't tried out the speaker's mixing options, so can't comment on that but there is an on board mixer and it can be controlled with an app. We got the Mackie speaker pole to set it up off the ground, but it can be used as a floor wedge (the sides are cut in such a way that it can rest tilted up on the ground). When we were deciding what to get for sound reinforcement for our band's practice space we just wanted something that would work without too much hassle. We had been using a used power amp and passive speakers (that we got for really cheap) and the power amp finally gave out. To replace our power amp with something that would be adequate to power the speakers would've cost not much less than this speaker, the tone we are getting is better, and we can get more volume with this without the background garbage we were getting with the multitude of old speakers and driving the power amp to it's limit in bridged mode. We are pretty happy with this powered speaker...just wish it was a bit less expensive so we don't have to save up to buy another one.

Mackie is stepping up their game!
This is a very nice product from Mackie. I have been DJing for over 11 years now and have had my QSC K12s and KSubs the whole time. They have never let me down and i think they sound AMAZING. However, i figured i had better get with the times and take advantage of the newer speakers with the newer technology. I did a ton of research. The only constraint i put on myself was i wanted to spend the same amount as i did when i got my QSCs. This was the one. It's built very nice. Just a tad bit bigger than my QSC K12s and like 2 lbs heavier but the SPL claims on this are quite a bit more. i have not had these but for a few days and need to really break them in for a while before i push them. But as a lreliminary opinion, these are right there. The sound customization options are vast and the bluetooth connectivity coupled with the phone app to remote control all the settings is a game changer. So, from what i can tell for now, these are worth the money.

Quality build, sound fantastic, loaded with cool features that increase their flexibility.
Should have purchased them before the price hike two months ago. Now they are a little too pricey. I'd like to be able to stream blue-tooth to the SRM V and use the mix out to go to subs, but the instructions say to use XLR cable to the subs and then use XLR from the subs to the SRM V 212. Using these bad boys in my home shop, hope the neighbors like my wide range of music.
