Awesome Universal Remote
These universal remotes were really easy to set up. I bought two, one for our old Sharp brand TV and one for our new Sharp brand TV and they connected without any issues at all. It's been approximately one week and they operate flawlessly. I also appreciate that they came in a lighter color, which in my opinion makes it easier to locate.

Very Nice Remote
It's a very nice lighted and easy to program remote. I got it to use with my Roku, and my TV antenna input so I don't have to mess around with two remotes anymore. It works very well.

DON'T THROW AWAY THE CODES MANUAL
Kinda sucks because it'll reset once in a while and so the buttons don't work, I had to go back through all the codes again the first couple times it happened (luckily I hadn't thrown away the manual yet even though a week or so had passed when it started doing this). The first time I thought maybe I hit the program button and it reset because of something I did, so I sucked it up because i thought it wouldn't happen again. Well the next time it happened I know I didn't hit that button, it just did it on its own. So then I was kind of annoyed because there's quite a few codes you have to go through to get the one that works. Then it happened AGAIN, so I was pretty annoyed at that point. I have it too much credit in thinking it wouldn't possibly do it a third time. So then I wrote it down in a notebook that stays on my side table with the remote. It has happened a few more times since then and I've only had it for like two months. But I'll continue to use it because I'm broke, and when it's not resetting it works fine. So my advice to you if you do buy this, is to write down the code when you find the one that works for your TV. Also, when you do find a code, make sure you test all the buttons you use to make sure they all work. There's some codes where a couple buttons work so you think it's fine, but then you go to hit the back button or the menu button later on and it doesn't work, so you gotta go through the codes again because now you can't remember what code it was you used since it's been a couple hours since you programmed it. ... other than that I like it. I like that the buttons all light up blue too. I don't like it for any particular reason, I just like the color lol.

Inexpensive, durable, works great
This is the third one of these I have had. They seem to last about 3-4 years before the buttons start to fail and the device sort of wears out. Each time they have gotten cheaper. This one was half the price of the first one I bought 6+ years ago, but it is better: it is fully backlit and uses AA batteries rather that AAA, so theoretically they should last longer.

Glad I gave it a whirl!
The remote arrived in a white box a bit beaten up, not at all the box shown in the listing, inside an Amazon poly bag. There are no instructions about set-up. There is one sheet with the codes and one sheet with the explanation of the buttons. Their website directed me to a YT video. The set-up was easy and quick. Got it on the first code try, then I got familiar with the functions. Press the TV (older SHARP Roku) to make changes, AUDIO for my sound bar etc. Got the sound bar set-up on the first code try as well (older LG) I wasn’t sure any of the codes would work on my TV. I decided to try it anyway. Well made and as described. And the buttons actually respond on the first try, too. I’m very happy!

Great if you don't need to turn on subtitles, or fast forward to next section
I bought this for my VIZIO TV, Samsung DVD, and Sony VCR. I wake up during the night and have a great DVD that always puts me back to sleep. So I wanted a remote that I could work at night. And one one remote instead of the three (well, usually I just have two out). The price is definitely right. It was easy enough to set up. But the buttons I use often are not available: Forward (and/or Back) to Next Section, and Subtitle. I thought that maybe a different code would get the fast forward button to go to the next section if I held it, so I went through all the codes. Twice. That didn't work. I also tested the A,B,C,D buttons to see if those might bring up Subtitle, but they never did. Another problem for me is that the lights don't go on until you hit a button. So I have to feel around to try to hit a button that will not turn off the unit, or go back to the menu, or .... It's easy enough to find the on button, but the lights go out so quickly that by the time the DVD is loaded and ready to go, I have to feel around again. For a while, after setting up, the back lights did not work at all (except for the on button). I took out the batteries and tried new ones, but that didn't do anything. Yet after putting the new batteries back, and putting the old batteries back in, the lights came on again. I have no idea what that was about. I think this is great for using in the day time or dusk, and if you just watch TV, or turn on a DVD and watch the entire show. But I like to watch DVDs that have chapters and I need to get to the right place easily and quickly. I also need subtitles. This remote does not work for that.

Works with XBOX?!?! AMAZING
I originally bought this remote to control my AV receiver, which it handles perfectly. Then I noticed it also had a code for Xbox, so I gave it a try—and it works flawlessly! It now controls our entire entertainment system: the TV, Xbox, and AV receiver. We run everything through the Xbox, and my wife is thrilled that she no longer has to use the Xbox controller. Programming was super easy, and there’s even a website where you can enter your devices to get the right codes. The size is great too—not bulky at all, just right in the hand. Highly recommend this remote!

Not perfect, but a nice remote
*UPDATE* - The remote died already. I'm writing this in Jan '23, but the remote failed on me a couple of months ago. In all, it lasted less than 5 months before it quit working since I originally wrote my review. I only use it for about 1 hour per night and typically only for volume and setting my sleep timer; very light use. The backlight still works on the remote, but all of the buttons stopped controlling my devices. Hard to say whether it was the circuit board or the infrared transmitter that died. Either way, remotes shouldn't die this fast. I've updated my rating from 4 stars to 1 star. Also, the backlighting turned out to be a little too bright. I saw someone else mention this in the reviews before I purchased. I initially didn't think it was too bright, but after some weeks of nightly usage, the blue lights started bothering me. It really is a little too bright after your eyes have adjusted to the dark. This depends on your own environment, of course. Unfortunately, there are almost no other backlit remotes out there to choose from... Original review below: --- I bought this remote to control two devices: an old Panasonic plasma TV, and a Sony DVD player (DVP-SR510H). For the TV it works perfectly. The remote mostly works fine for the DVD player, but none of Jasco/GE's codes for Sony DVD players will operate the eject button. My DVD player was (once upon a time) one of the most popular budget players on the market, from one of the biggest brands, so I find that a bit surprising. I double-checked the factory Sony remote, and it has an eject button, but this capability seems to be absent from the GE remote even though it too has a physical eject button. A little disappointing, but I can't think of a single reason I'd ever need to remotely eject a disc anyway.. so it's not a problem. Everything else seems to be working fine. With just my TV and DVD player connected, if I am watching a DVD with the remote in DVD mode and press the volume buttons, it will control my TV's volume. I'm glad it does that, I was concerned I might have to switch to TV mode to adjust volume, but it works exactly how I had hoped it would. The buttons are a little mushy, but again, no big deal. The remote feels very balanced in the hand and looks nice. The backlight is nice to have, and it was the primary reason I purchased this remote over any other brand. It's surprising that this feature isn't standard on most remotes. In fact, there are hardly any other universal remotes available that offer backlighting. The packaging it comes in is very generic.. a plain white box with the remote and 2 booklets. No bubble wrap, no nothing. Shipped in a padded envelope from Amazon. It arrived a little crushed, but no damage.
