Quality product
The Dough Spiral arrived in a timely manner, and was exactly as described. The attachment fit my kitchenaid pro like a glove. The white non stick coating not only prevents a sticky mess, but looks good too. The attachment is easy to attach and detach. The weight of the attachment is what you would expect from a quality build.Unfortunately I did have to return the one I ordered as my mixer is a 5 - 6 Quart, which meant that due to the depth of the mixing bowl, the attachment did not reach all the way down. Be careful and read the specs, there was nothing wrong with the product, the return was due to buyer error. The fact is depending on how the mixing bowl is made, this attachment might very well work on a 5 quart. It all depends on depth of the bowl.

Perfect Fit
Fit perfectly in my older style KitchenAid bowl lift. Doesn’t hit the sides or bottom, but still gets the job done!

It does do as advertised.
This dough hook does do as advertised. For one thing the dough does not climb, well actually it does climb up the hook like it does the C hook that came with the mixer, but when it reaches the top it throws it back to the bowl and doesn't try to climb into the attachment point of the mixer.Secondly it does seem to kneed the dough much faster than the other hook, everything came together in five minutes instead of 12-15.However, I noticed, like several other reviewers had mentioned, there seems to be more strain put on the motor with this hook than with the other attachments. I have a 350 W Special Edition KA and I just felt the motor strained more. Possibly it isn't as bad as the work is being done twice as fast, I am just concerned I would rather take more time and not sacrifice the mixer in the process.Overall, this hook does do as it was advertised, but use caution that it doesn't harm your mixer in the process.

Adjust your technique
Here is some feedback for those that is looking to change from the original hook. Perhaps others may have noted it.1. for high hydration dough (80%+), it does a good job working the dough. My original hook would have lots of the dough on the hook and side wall. This one keeps the dough off the side wall and work the dough as it spins.2. it seems to strain the motor more than I thought. I usually do a 15-18 minute cycle on the 2nd setting (2nd click) but I can see that it is taking a toll on the motor. After 18 minutes, the top of the KA motor cover was registering 160 degrees. It it s lot hotter than normal. I let it cool for 50 minutes and used a lower setting for the 2nd batch.3. the dough still climbs with this book but less so with the original hook.4. Overall, I would say this is a good upgrade but make adjustments to your process...Good Luck
