I didn't know what to expect but was really interested to know more about what restaurants serve their staff. This book does give a glimpse of what each restaurant serves her staff and some of the recipes are possible for me to repeat while others are not due to my geographical location and the availability of the ingredients.

Big chunky coffee table book
Feels like you're part of the kitchen team when cooking from this book. Have tagged and tried several items so far - no complaints on any of the dishes. Only concern is this big hunky book has a LOT of filler pics and survey pages, and could ideally offer more recipes.The images and surveys are great and it's an excellent book for your collection. I was just hungry for a few more "secret menu" items.

Boring
I was really disappointed in the recipes in the book. I bought it used through Amazon so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much but it was not worth the money, at all.

Wonderful book
This book is lovely- the pictures really capture the spirit of the restaurants, and the recipes were inspirational! I rarely mark so many recipes to try in one cookbook. Great buy!

Comfort food at its finest
Reading this book is like getting a warm hug from a friend. The recipes are pragmatic, if not always "quick and easy", and the page of context that comes with each restaurant's contributions provides some inspiration for when to cook what, how to adapt them, and so forth. One of my favourites.

Expected More
The Family Meal: Home Cooking with Ferran Adrià is a FAR better book. I produced every dish in The Family Meal, not a miss in the bunch.
