Shadowline Silhouette Gown and Peignoir Set (51737)

I recommend this peignoir trousseau robe & gown. The material is durable and even though I hand-wash all of my delicates it could be washed on a gentle cold water wash. I disagree with some people who have purchased this set at places like Target. If it's that low in cost on a sales rack; being in the "clothing" industry the company would return it because no company in it's right business practice would sell an item at a loss. It's just not good business practice. We will sit on items instead of selling it at a loss or give them to the clients as a gift or a "Thank you for your business. Women and I can only speak for women because I am one DO NOT always follow the "Care" instructions. I may wash 4 or 5 loads of laundry in any given day; but, it's by choice. I don't do by color because I set all reds, blues etcetera have to be set with vinegar to ensure even if it's a sublimated design I take ZERO chances of it running or bleeding onto other clothes. I wash them individually to ensure that never happens. If it's a lacy piece I always treat it like a sweater and let it either dry on a towel or in the case of a long gown, on a hanger in my utility room which is filled with light and I close the door and let naturally heat and light do it's thing just like the days of hanging clothes on a clothes line outside; but, in the cold air of a Midwestern winter it serves the same purpose. All I can say is your lingerie will only look and last according to the way you take care your garments. I will by other colors; redundancy in some items is a plus! I am a very young and unwrinkled 63 year old women in a 36 year old body and my doctor tells me I am not giving myself enough credit! I smile and say, "Thank you!" Dove soap and Vaseline with Cocoa Butter is the regiment used from my grandmother, mother to me! So all the expensive things and procedures you have are the lazy and expensive way out. Ladies this lingerie set is classy, sophisticated and looks fabulous on my body; not my words, the words of my husband who buys these for me and many others because he loves for me to not only be pretty; but, dress like the Southern Belle I am and his Queen! I am white as rice and yes, I am his Queen. We have no children by choice and he loves spoiling me to the core. So despite the naysayers, your lingerie that he purchases and believe me we know and understand thread count, excellent lacy clothing and we READ THE WASHING INSTRUCTIONS. I ordered the long black nightgown/peignoir set. It came quickly through the USPS which I prefer for shipping more expensive items from Amazon. I had to the mail the seller last second before they mailed the package to make a quick size change and they immediately responded to my email request and I received the right size. They even refunded me the price difference that day and sent my item within 24 hours. This set is very flattering and true to size. I am 5’ 4.5”, 145-150 lbs, and a 38 DD. The XL was a perfect fit. The fabric is soft to the touch and is lightweight + flowing. I have not washed the nightgown set yet but will probably hand wash and hang dry with mild soap. I love it!! I hope this company branches out to carry more styles in nightgown/robe sets. I would definitely purchase from this seller again and plan to order a satin nightgown that they carry which will look great with the robe from this set. Nothing makes a woman feel more put together after a long day than a matching robe/nightgown set that is beautiful, feminine, and sexy.

I only receive the gown, no robe. Ordered a second time, and again I only received the gown. It looked OK, but a little cheap, the fabric was very cheap. Definitely not worth the money and especially if you don’t receive both pieces. Returned both gowns. Bought a gown and robe set from Macy’s for the same price, and it was 100 times nicer.

At 5'2" this skims my ankles. The color is a bright orange-ish red, The lace is not itchy or stiff and it has a lot of elastic, i'm a small C cup and it fit perfectly. Because the fabric is so smooth it doesn't get tangled at night although the lace is slightly see-through but it is not so see-through that you feel exposed. The lace straps are slightly long but most clothes fit me that way so I don't consider it a defect, I may sew them to a shorter length. Because the fabric is so smooth it doesn't get tangled at night. Got this to feel pretty while spending the evening at home watching a movie, so I wanted the gown to be wide enough to be able to tuck my legs under the fabric. I've owned a shadowline gown before and it was modest enough to greet the grand kids yet survive any hot flashes, and I purposely picked a black one for that purpose.

This is a very pretty nightgown and robe set. The fabric is beautiful, but be sure to order a size (or two) larger than you expect. It runs very small, especially through the bustline.

I have been eyeing this for a while and finally broke down and purchased it. I love the feel of it and the elegance. It is a little lighter than I thought the fabric would be. The fabric is almost sheer (I got the light Peri Frost - it may be different with the darker colors) and I needed to wear both gown and peignoir to cover myself fully in front of my children. I may have thought twice before purchasing this for as much as I did if I had seen it in a store, but I love the flowy elegance and the delicate lace details. It makes me feel beautiful and sexy at the same time. I am glad I didn't see it before I purchased as I probably wouldn't have gotten it and I really like it. Just wanted to put that out there so anyone who is thinking of this gown will not be surprised by how light it is like I was. It is really very beautiful. Better than the pictures. And the fit is great. I am 5'9" and it goes to my ankles. The arms of the peignoir are a touch short when I am moving around but it doesn't bother me because of the elastic at the wrists makes it very comfortable.

For the price of this set I was expecting finished seams and turned edges but received unfinished edges and unturned scenes the lace is nice the color is on time

I am a fan of Shadowline as I have worn this product for many years. The colors never fade. The material is so comfortable and it does not wrinkle. I have these products for everyday wear and I always keep a nice set for traveling. You can’t go wrong purchasing and it fits true to size.

There's no doubt this is a very elegant set. I returned it only because I felt the fabric lacked quality for cost. It would have received a 5 star from me if they were to upgrade that factor. There's no doubt I would have kept it otherwise.

The nightgown fits perfect and is quite attractive but the long sleeve cover should be larger in the set to fit over the gown. Somewhat disappointed about that.
