Excellent product product arrived on 1/18/25.
I used it for incense burning to create the smell in the house that reminds my partner of her grandmothers house in ireland where they burn turf for heat.

Where’s the smell?
I bought this hoping for a pleasant aroma that reminded me of cozy pubs in Ireland when I visited. While the item was easy to burn and did seem to last a while, I got zero smell and others agreed. I burned this in a normal fireplace with some other wood so not sure if the burning conditions matter. Would I buy again? Probably not.

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: I did write the company and without asking, they sent me a new box of peat. Happy to report these are full of aroma and burn beautifully. Thank you to seller for taking it upon yourselves with great customer service. I stand corrected!!! Order and enjoy the wonderful smell of peat!SO disappointed in these. Don't waste your money. First of all they don't light. I broke one apart to use in our fire pit. they wouldn't catch. I used tongs to hold a piece over the kitchen stove with a high flame. It took longer than it should to catch and once it did, it lasted a few seconds. no peat aroma. I was so excited to get them and they are useless bricks. bummer!!! I only gave it one star because i had to give it something.RIP OFF.

Made a great gift
These were a great gift for the spouse for Christmas. We used them in our fire place and enjoyed the smell of the past. They did burn up a bit quicker than we expected, but our fireplace also runs a bit hotter than how some folks run theirs.

How Irish is This!
I'm blessed to be able to burn the Peat Briquettes in my outdoor fireplace here in St Marys, Georgia on our mild but occasionally cold winter evenings. This St Patrick's Day, coming up shortly, will be such a day if the weather cooperates. I've shared my purchase on my FB page and my source as Amazon. One friend packed some peat briquettes in her suitcase coming back to the States not knowing she could just order them! Thank you for this is really a treat and brings the experience of "keeping the home fires burning" to a whole new level.

very disappointed in the amount of peat I received for $40.
Was buying peat locally for much, much less, but due to a death in the family, I can no longer get them. I will update this post once I try them, but the volume for the money is very disappointing. .

The smell of Irish nostalgia!
If you have ever been to Ireland, then you know the scent of which I write; rich, dark, ethereal, and as intoxicating as the scenery. Break off a few small chips and use as incense, or throw a whole briquette on your home/camp fire and make your neighbors wonder what magic is at work. If you have a genuine addiction to Ireland, having these on hand is a vital as Guinness and a tweed jacket.

Burn literally anything else.
Absolutely TERRIBLE. Would not stay lit, produced no scent. Complete waste of money and I’m extremely unhappy.
