Some serious limitations
I would not recommend buying these for any kind of professional environment. My take is this product is really a home use item marketed towards small business. You can't manage them remotely. They can only be managed if you are physically standing near them and then only using a phone app. I set up a guest network following the instructions, then discovered the guest network has full access to my secure LAN if the guest user can figure out a simple IP scan. Needless to say this is not good. I wish I could return them but with Amazon's shortened return window I am stuck with 3 of these units that are essentially useless. Hopefully I can save someone else from the same fate.

Arduous setup procedure for a simple objective + New glitch
Original review of June 17, 2022 (see below for update):I have been running a setup with three Cisco WAP581's, one connected to the router while the other two operated on separate (remote) LAN segments all on the same IP subnet. The two "remote" WAP581's connected back to the primary using WDS. Only the primary WAP581 was set up as an access point .Boring - because such a configuration is what mesh eats for breakfast. I wanted to replace the three WAP581's with three 240AC's rather than using two Cisco mesh extenders, to take advantage of the higher performance of 240AC's.First, I followed the zero day procedure to set up the primary 240AC using the web management interface. OK so far. Plugged in the other 240AC's (powered by Cisco switches) and . . . nothing. They never showed up on the Access Points page of the primary 240AC.Hours of trial-and-error troubleshooting with no success. Lots of google searches for symptoms. Finally I came across a Cisco knowledge base page titled "Change Primary Capable AP to Mesh Extender on CBW - Cisco". It turns out that starting with firmware version 10.6.1.0, it is POSSIBLE to utilize a 240AC as a mesh extender. Happily, these 240AC's shipped with that firmware version installed. The procedure to convert them to mesh extenders involves first bringing them up as primary access points on the same wired network as my original primary 240AC, then going into the Access Points table and editing their attributes to specify Mesh. After everything reboots again, these modified 240AC's will act like mesh extenders. (This magic is apparently accomplished by installing an entirely separate firmware image onto the device.)I got this all working. Then I noticed that warnings were being logged concerning excessive interference on the 5GHz radio. I had allowed the default channel 32 to be used. I then attempted to modify the channel to 161 which worked well with the WAP581's. Applying that change completely broke the mesh network. The change somehow disabled the Mesh setting on the the primary 240AC. The mesh extender 240AC's went into a perpetual reboot cycle. I had to start over by factory resetting those 240AC's and going the wired configuration procedure again.I ran the full factory-reset-to-mesh procedure a number of times, attempting variations of the channel setup to attempt to get the mesh working on channel 161. It could not be done. The only working mesh network utilized the factory default channel settings - channel 32.This a far cry from the marketing materials that state (1) just plug in your mesh extenders and they will be automatically be incorporated into the network, and (2) 240AC's can act as mesh extenders. A lot of details glossed over, that.If I were rating these 240AC's solely on the setup procedure, it would be one star. However, the good news is that my typical speedtest.net results from the remote LAN segments improved from 250Mbps with the WAP581's to around 400Mbps with the 240AC's (on a 1Gbps fiber internet service). If the mesh remains stable over time, even stuck on channel 32, then it is worth it.UPDATE 22-Oct-2022:Finally a glitch after four months of solid performance. This evening the primary AP simply "forgot" the two mesh extenders in its MAC table. Connectivity to the mesh was lost and the two mesh extenders started flashing their red light. After figuring out what happened, I just added the two MAC addresses in question back into the mesh extender table of the primary AP. Connectivity was restored. This is clearly a malfunction, most likely in software. My four-star rating stays the same for the time being, unless this sort of thing recurs.

Overengineered and unstable
Cisco used to be the best for networking equipment, they dominated the enterprise market. They have now been overtaken by a multitude of cheaper, better options. In IT for 20yrs, took too long to setup and it was not reliable, I can only imagine an inexperienced person trying to setup.Try Linksys Biz, Ubiquiti or even some cheap 3 router mesh option and you'll be better off.

O/S with English Locale only. Otherwise, you should take some workaround.
If you are using O/S's for other languages than English, the initial setup will not succeed. If you use Windows 10 Pro, then install English language support and switch to that language. and try to setup again.Furthermore, you must connect to the AP management page with English-first OS.Good product, but not recommended for users who use O/S's in other languages than English.
