Book 1: Truly Devious 2.5/5I was intrigued by the premise of this series - I loved A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and this seemed a similar style. However, I was disappointed as this felt very rushed and under-developed. Stevie’s relationship with David appeared suddenly and without any build up. Stevie is also meant to be Shelock Holmes-esque, but this felt a bit forced. I did love how Stevie observes her surroundings and appears to be an outsider, yet stands her ground when needed. Overall this felt more middle grade than YA, and was missing any mystery or suspense.Book 2: The Vanishing Stair 3.5/5I’m glad I continued with this series! There is more character development in this book, and I loved Stevie’s friendship group, who are quirky and fun. The mystery element to the story is more complex and there were more clues sprinkled throughout.Book 3: The Hand on the Wall 4/5A good ending to the series. The interweaving plot lines from book one continue throughout this book and again, there was further complexity and suspense. Overall, an entertaining and easy to read mystery series.
