I bought these cables to cut them in half to build a custom cable. I was very impressed with the quality when I cut them open.The fabric sheath is a high quality and seems quite abrasion resistant - the nylon melts cleanly with a heat gun and leaves a nice clean working edge.Under the fabric is a sturdy but flexible jacket. Under the Jacket is a full foil shield.Inside the shield are the USB Power wires which look like a high quality #22 Red and Gray stranded wire, the USB data wires (#28 green and white stranded).Additionally, the jacket has two more foil shielded pairs with drain wires. The pairs are #28 Violet and Orange and #28 Yellow and Blue. These lines are not connected inside the USB connector.I suspect the manufacturer uses the same bulk cable for other products so the additional wires in the cable act to add some strength to the cable and as a fill.The USB "B" connectors appear sturdy and have a nice flex boot.If all the vendors cables are built to this standard, I will use their cables for everything.

I bought this by accident, but soon realized how valuable this became. Very strong and durable with the length and power becoming a very helpful and handy power cord. Bonus 2 for price of one.

This was for a computer to ham radio transceiver connection. I only wish it came with built-in iron core RF supressors. Very robust construction. Worth the money.

There are a couple of things I like a lot about these cables. The color - they're bright red. And the woven wrap. I haven't had the cables long enough to know how durable they are. It's only been a month or so. But I'll update this review if there is anything to add. Other than those two qualities, which I value more for their cosmetic additions than improving my online experience, these are workaday cables. They do the job. That's all I ask. The color and the woven wrap are nice extras.
