is the buckle brass or brass plated steel?

I think it is brass because it looks exactly like the one the Marines issued to me in 1957.

Can i buy the canvas belt alone. Don't need buckles

Nope not with this particular product. Also this belt is thinner than most canvas belts I’ve had and may not fit with other buckles.

The belt is made of very heavy, substantial material. It is made of the same type of material of a belt I previously owned and that belt has lasted over twenty years.
