Firehouse Technology ARC V Drone Strobe Anti-Collision Light, 1000 Lumens, Red/Blue

This review is primarily for U.S. residents operating as recreational pilots or Part 107- First off the hard to find information: This weighs in at 13 grams, 14 grams with the 3M hook and loop (velcro) mount and the rubber protector in the micro-usb port. Not sure why the box specifies 4 grams, misprint I imagine.- My mini SE itself ready to fly weighs 238 grams (weigh your drones, just because it has 249 grams printed on it, in some cases just means it is under 250, not exactly 249). For those strict about the rules this puts mine 1-2 grams over the 249g mark for rules requiring registration.- The Firehouse ARC V is extremely well built, I'd say too well as I think a gram or few could be saved with a thinner enclosure and smaller lipo battery. I'd be fine with less run time and as far as durability if something happens where the ARC V takes a hit, there's probably a lot more to worry about that might be damaged with whatever this is riding on.- I pulled on the wrong side of the protective rubber that goes in the micro-usb port to protect it and the whole thing detached. I've tried a few times to put it back in its place but so far no luck, when you get yours place it upright with the charging port facing you, and it is the left side of the rubber you want to pull/pry up. I've included a photo so you can see.- VHB tape is just overkill for people who will mostly fly in daylight and occasionally fly at night. This is so small and light something that can be peeled off after use rather than something permanently stuck needs to be considered.- I have not mounted this to my mini SE yet, as this particular drone has amazing wind resistance and I don't want anything at all to degrade that. I regularly fly/shoot video up in the mountains where wind gusts and sudden weather are a constant reality. Leaving the velcro piece permanently on my drone is not acceptable so I will be researching other options including a second plastic body piece I can swap out as needed or even just banding it to the body for night flights.- The lights are as bright as advertised, and work well head-on as well as at a 45 degree angle and points in between.- No worries about choosing any specific color LED's as (for now) all the rules state is your light must be visible up to 3 statute miles and have an appropriate flash for anti-collision purposes. So pick whichever colors you like.- I took a video of me cycling through the various patterns and included it.This is a great addition to your drone and will make you compliant with all current rules for night time flight. It is extremely well built and of the highest quality and brightness. Well done!Things to improve: try and knock a few grams off, make the port cover more intuitive for dummies like me who just tug at it, options for less permanent mounting.

I needed this in order to legally fly at night. I works great. I was afraid the lights would interfere with shooting video but it does not come into play unless there is something in the shot that can reflect light. Then you will see the light in the reflection. Easily avoidable and not an issue for me

I'm using this for my DJI Mavic Mini, so the size and weight of the item is where I need it to be, overall functions work great.The only gripe I have would be the clear case was loose, or rather it would not clip in properly, I simply used some clear silicone to fill the gaps.YMMV

The quality of the this product is amazing. Feels well built and sturdy. The weight of this device is light enough that it hasn't impacted my flight time at all. The size is decent, it sticks out quite a bit from the top if my drone but I believe that makes it even more visible at night since the top quarter of the device is clear. I can see the strobe from about 3km or more when flying at night (positioned at top). The battery life of the light is also really good. I get about 15 20 min flights, that in my opinion is really good. I don't have to charge it all the time. I'd say this is well worth the price for what you get.

Very bright great quality

To those who are hobbyists like myself, this needs no explanation. To those who are looking to to get into the hobby I highly recommend that you purchase a Firehouse brand light, if you are planning any night fly it’s an absolute necessity, literally. These lights are a bit pricier then others, but, considering the fact that simply putting these on your drone will fulfill your obligation to the FAA as far as lighting is concerned.Extremely bright and very durable, these lights are built to impress and deliver far more then ANY other brand. Read the description from the manufacturer and see the benefits for yourself. The claims they make in regards to these lights are very accurate and I can guarantee that what you see and read is precisely what you get.Top notch is the best way to describe these lights, seriously check em out if you’re in the market for lighting because there are no better lights on the market then the ones produced by Firehouse!Oh and one last thing, they are proudly made in the USA 🇺🇸

This FAA approved identifier LED beacon light is the brightest I have found. Will be used on my drone while doing nighttime mission's. As a first responder I made this purchase due to other independent reviews oc this product. The firehouse ARC V led is also manufactured by firefighters so buy this product to not only support first responders but to buy the best.

Great light, the one I purchased is red and blue. Can flash both colors simultaneously or individually. This brand offers several different color options so choose according to your needs. Know that white is always the strongest color however it appears that all colors will meet the 3 mile requirement if you are trying to meet regulations. Be mindful this light will put a sub 249G drone over the weight requirements and may need to register your drone.
