These fittings have a very basic design flaw: they lack ground/machined flats with which to tighten the fittings. While that is acceptable on non-terminal fittings, it is a fundamental design failure to omit them on terminal fittings. And these fittings, by definition, are terminal fittings.There's really no excuse for the omission of the flats: they are created so that wrenches can find purchase when tightening. Without them, you have to use channel locks or similar, damaging the surface of the fitting and generally making them more difficult to keep clean. Why were the omitted? While speculative, most likely for the manufacturer to save cost: removing that fabrication step means that they can produce them faster. But at the consumer's expense: they are considerably more difficult to install and remove as a result.Bottom line: purchase someone else's fittings. Ones with flats cast or machined. Ones which you can install and replace using normal spanners and not pipe wrenches. Do these work once installed? Yes. But purchase ones which install well which these do not.

Stores are always out of these every-time I Go. Perfect for what I needed. Threads fit perfectly into a 1/2” valve, worked with the standard tri-clamp fittings and gaskets.

Used this on a beer brewing pump to make connecting different attachments more easier.

This item would not thread into any of my 1/2" NPT femal connectors. Perhaps this was a one off issue but I wanted to get up and running so I just returned it instead of asking for a replacement.

maximum 1/2 turn before it locks up threading into anything. no flats for a wrench to grab on. over tightening stainless is not a good idea, so that makes these less than useless.
