Very good basic info.
Great for trip planning. Not fancy. No color pictures. JUST good information. Able to see what's close to your planned route. Then go to the parks website and get more detail.

Exactly the Book I Was Looking For!
As Sgt. Friday used to say, "Just the facts", and that's what I wanted. Yes, it's black and white without fancy pictures. The maps are sketches. But what it DOES have is all the information you will need to start planning your camping trip to see this wonderful country of our by way of our national parks.Media has changed, and it's the internet that has impacted us the most. I always thought that reference books could change their approach by realizing people could do in-depth research online, yet without a starting point, could easily become overwhelmed by the details available there. This book provides that starting point, with just enough detail to let me know if I should consider a campground or if it doesn't meet my requirements.First of all, the book contains only those national parks that accommodate RV camping, hence the title. No sense including EVERY park if I'm traveling in my RV or camper. Parks are grouped according to state. There is a brief overview of the park as a whole, and then a paragraph describing each campground in that park. That's right, a paragraph, that tells you the number of sites, amenities available, cost, if it's pet-friendly, and the size RV it can accommodate. With a little variation, that's it. And that's all I want. I can narrow my choices and if it sounds good, I can get more information and make reservations online. End of story. If you're looking for a coffee table book with full color, enticing photographs, history of the indigenous people who once camped there, and more information you need and will quickly forget, this isn't the book for you.EDIT: My suggestion for the Second Edition -- Include website addresses for additional information (such as local attractions or state tourist information) and reservations. This addition would make the book a great "first-stop" research source.

Great detail
Appreciated the detail about each national park with info on which campsites take reservations and which ones not. It made it so much easier and not waste time on those which do not take reservations.

Not much info, paper books are going the way of the dinosaur!
Not much information per park, and nothing that can not be found in more comprehensive data on the web or google. I purchased it to put in the RV for reference but sent it back after taking a look. I have been to over 70 National parks and monuments, and the information is spotty at best. Plus it will get outdated quickly. A digital format would eventually be better, with web links. Guess paper products are going the way of the dinosaur! Also, be careful because restocking fees on these products are getting ridiculous. I probably will not order anything like this from Amazon in the future. Got really burned on the Good Sam Guide when I sent it back. 40% restocking fee!
