Great for decorating projects
A paint pen is needed for any decorating project. This pen is easy to refill and great there is two in the pack, so I could use one for the white on the ceiling and then one for dark blue for our feature wall. It was great to use along the skirting board edges and the light switches. The brush attachment doesn't leave any noticeable brush strokes. The only negative with this pen is that it is not easily refillable, making it one use.

Fine Line
Those of you who have been kind enough to read some of my reviews will know that Duncurin has been on something of a journey over the past few years. My ,long suffering, wife used to call me half-a job whenever I attempted any DIY projects as the job in hand either wasn't finished or it was to a poor standard. Volunteering at our local church to tidy the grounds encouraged me to take on new skills like fence building, paving as did the wonderful array of tools, saws, drills etc etc that Amazon were kind enough to offer me to review and the vital 3 ingredients - practise, practise and practise. I never thought I’d write this but increasing DIY-competence has its own problems as one now sees areas that could be done better.Mrs Duncurin has had the decorators in this week and without doubt they’ve done a great job. Duncurin couldn't help but notice ,however, that one or two lines of colour demarcation were not as straight as, well, Duncurin might aspire to. These are maybe ‘picky’ things that days gone by I wouldn't even notice.I wasn't sure how to correct this quickly without making things worse (my party piece). I decided to try these fillable touch up pens which were kindly on offer in BF Amazon sale. They are quite easy to use and can be flushed, rinsed and re-used. Most vitally they are filled with one’s own paint, so that with care a good match can be achieved; not just for touch up, damaged areas but hopefully my intended use , to attempt to put in some fine and straight lines. I decided to use some masking tape to aid my feverish shaking hands as I set to work. It goes without saying that the choice of this should be the expensive, low tack stuff not the cheap stuff or you really will have your partner pressing the solicitor’s speed dial button. Also the trick is to apply the tape firmly but accurately. One can then activate the paint pen with a screw tightening motion at the base and away you go. As the colour difference was quite marked I needed two coats and this also allowed me to ‘build’ the coats when the first was dry of course. One then needs to peel off the tape as soon as - rather than leave it on too long, which is another of Duncurin’s party pieces. Please take a look at the two photos: before and after. Not bad ??One or two more points, if I may. Of course once it’s masked up one could simply use a fine brush dipped into the paint but the advantage of the paint pen is that it has a cap which can be deployed while you wait for the first coat to dry and you’ll be ready to swing into instant action. Also with the paint pen, one has a fixed type of brush but in truth it seems to work ok and has a nice paint loading/fineness/accuracy balance that Duncurin suspects will work in a variety of instances not just fine-lining.The only downside is that they are a teeny bit expensive when not in a BF promotion - but then of course what price a good finish - and I cant believe I’m writing that either. Good luck.PS - I’ve been trying but cannot find a way to reuse them. The ratchet once screwed fully in won’t then disengage - so this would make non-reusable pens not in BF much more expensive.
