Review: Nice! - I'm not an umbrella person, but when I've had to use this, it has performed well. It's nicely made, feels good in the hand, and is easy up and down in operation. Whether it works in a hurricane I can't say, as you won't find me out in a hurricane. However, it's a very nice umbrella!
Review: Flips inside out...a LOT - My last 4 umbrellas have been Fulton Jumbo's and I thought I would give this a try for extra wind protection. I wish I hadn't bothered. First use in moderate wind it flipped inside out three times in succession and is difficult to get it back right again as it's so big. After my 10 minute walk I folded it down and it would retract easily. The button now only partially opens it and you have to do the rest by hand. It's not windproof, the original Jumbo never inverted like this. If you are looking at both I would choose the standard.

**Q: does this umberela lock when in position?**
A: It relies on spring-tension to hold it open rather than a mechanical lock. That's the same spring-tension that opens it quickly when pressing the button to unlock it.  Works well though and it's never tried to close on me, even when walking directly into strong winds. Biggest issue with it is the awkwardly shaped grip.

**Q: How do i fix it if the cords become loose and it doesn't fully open or close?**
A: Hi, If you see the mechanism cords it could well be broken. This normally happens when someone opens or closes the umbrella without pressing the button. This is an automatic opening and closing umbrella so the button should be pressed to open the umbrella and to close the canopy. The spring is reset when you push the collapsed top back into the handle and you should hear a click.

I'm not an umbrella person, but when I've had to use this, it has performed well. It's nicely made, feels good in the hand, and is easy up and down in operation. Whether it works in a hurricane I can't say, as you won't find me out in a hurricane. However, it's a very nice umbrella!

Yes it's neither the shortest, slimmest or lightest, but I've tried all those and they're flimsy, short lasting with no decent overhead coverage. This is built to last, endure most winds, and fully cover from rain, and easier to carry in decent sized bag unlike full length umbrella.
