Pip the Puppy (Campbell Axel Scheffler)

Purchased this after having ‘On The Farm’ & ‘In The Jungle’ for my 18 month old who loves books and animals. He is currently dog obsessed so thought this one would be perfect to add to his much loved collection. Again it’s a nice story and lots of interactive opportunities, however unlike the others some of the sliders are a little stiff which is disappointing for little fingers. Otherwise would have received 5 stars.

Liked the pictures and general idea, but when we first received the book and tried the slider to move the dog up the tree we found the slider stuck so we had difficulty getting the dog back down again. We managed it by sliding the dog at same time as the slider. A child of the age for whom the book is intended wouldn't have been able to work it. Not sure whether the problem was caused by something sticky or by too tight a fit, but it was disappointing. Other sliders seemed to work OK.

Kids love gruffalo series. Recognisable characters in this book as it’s illustrated by the same artist. Axel Shaffler

This is a lovely book plenty to see and tabs to move. Quite short story Pune the for the very young to engage with
