A stunning guide to the Bordeaux wine region
This is a beautifully illustrated guide to the wine region of Bordeaux, France. It contains a history book, a guidebook, and an instruction manual, all together in the form of a coffee book. While I read it in PDF format I can easily imagine how much more beautiful it would be to own a physical copy. There are three main sections to this book. While the first two sections don’t even cover a tenth of the material, they are not to be skipped! The first small section is a history of the Bordeaux region, including a description of the physical geography that makes this area a world-renowned wine region as well as the history of how and when wine started to be grown here.Following that is another small section that covers the city of Bordeaux itself. The history of the city, where to go, where to stay, where to eat, and even how to get there.Last comes the main section of the book, which is divided into the various wine regions that make up the Bordeaux region of France. You will go on a tour of the various wineries in each region, pointing out what stands out at each one. Only places that you can visit are included, so that you don’t drive to a winery that makes exquisite wine, only to be told there is nothing there for tourists! Not one page goes by that doesn’t have at least one picture on it. The pictures themselves are stunning and in a sense are their own guide to the region. One can practically visit Bordeaux vicariously by flipping through the pages of this book and taking in the sights. As you read this book and study the photos, I think, that like me, you can't help but wish to visit the Bordeaux region of France, to stop by the various wineries listed, to try and sample and taste and learn. And therein lies the magic of this book. With his words and pictures, Dr. Higgins transports you to a place where it seems all of that is possible. And even if you were only to learn just the smallest amount, you would be wandering through the terrains of FranceI recommend this book to those who want to learn more about wine in general, the Bordeaux region of France in particular, or who want a beautiful coffee book as a centerpiece.

A Detailed Guide to Bordeaux's Wine Scene!
"Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France" by Michael C. Higgins is a detailed guide to Bordeaux's wine scene. Higgins shares the region's history, from ancient traditions to modern tourism, covering everything from famous figures like Eleanor of Aquitaine to the soil and climate that influence the wine. The book focuses on "terroir," which is how soil, weather, and location affect the taste of Bordeaux wines. For example, Cabernet Sauvignons thrive on gravel soil, while Merlots do well in clay. Unlike some other places, Bordeaux wines are labeled by region, not just by grape.Higgins also gives practical tips for travelers, suggesting wineries, restaurants, and landmarks to visit. His personal stories and love for Bordeaux shine through, making it enjoyable for anyone interested in wine or French culture.Overall, I highly recommend "Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France" to anyone planning to visit Bordeaux.

Perfect Coffee Table Book
This book is a must-read if you are considering traveling to Bordeaux. This is the kind of travel guide I'd want to pick up before going to a new place. I appreciated how the author broke down this seemingly complicated topic of what makes Bordeaux wines great into something a total beginner could understand, and I will consider checking out his other books because of my positive experiences with this one. The photographs were gorgeous and I loved the inclusion of other tourism experiences inside of wine country that aren’t wine related. I don’t drink wine, but I loved this book because it was highly informative and the photos made me want to go to there. If you are a wine connoisseur, I recommend this book to you, as life is too short to drink bad wine, and this book recommends some of the best wines in the world. Wine drinkers will get more out of it then I did, but I still loved it and give it five stars.

es un libro muy bonito como en la descripción, pero lamentablemente llegó con el embalaje dañado. y el libro tiene algunos lugares dañados al nivel de la cubierta. Es una pena porque es un regalo.
