I’ve had several life jackets before because we boat. This one is extremely comfortable, because of the arm holes are quite large. It be good for canoeing as well. I like the fact that it floats and also has a discharge valve in case you’re needing it. Good price I took back another mustang one that I bought that was almost $200 in this one is much much better.

Awesome lifejacke ride paddling and kayaking. Super light and comfortable. Enough buoyancy to hold you up when you fall in calm water. I wouldn’t recommend it for river kayaking but on the lake it’s the best !

The slim fit is incredible for sailing since it stays out of the way. Build quality is great. Only issue is that the manual inflator tube (conveniently hidden in most pics) sticks out quite a bit and pushes into you when you wear it. Over a jacket it’s fine, but with a light sun shirt or no shirt it’s extremely noticeable. Reached out to customer support and they claimed they don’t get comments about it which I doubt. If they fixed this it’s the best PFD on the market.

You need a PFD if you're going to be out on the water. And ideally your PFD won't get in the way of your day on the water, but it will be there to help you if you need it. The Khimera Hybrid PFD is perfect. It's low profile with no front zipper, making it more comfortable than a standard foam PFD. It's small enough to stay out of the way and comfortable enough on a warm day, even in a kayak seat. It's slim enough that you can still swim, you won't have to fight it if you're in the water climbing back onto your kayak or paddleboard. And unlike purely inflatable PFDs, you don't have to worry about having enough time to pull the cord and pull it over your head in an emergency. It takes the panic factor out of having an inflatable PFD. Also unlike purely inflatable PFDs, you don't have to repack it after use. Just deflate the bladder and replace the CO2 cartridge. The red color is perfect because you know it will be easier to spot in an emergency. There are more buoyant foam PFDs. There are more comfortable inflatable PFDs. But there aren't any PFDs that are buoyant and inflatable and comfortable at any price point. Peace of mind is worth it

I believe Mustang makes the best PFDs for SUPs. Their stuff is pricey - but top of the line design and quality. And it often goes on sale. This is the second Mustang Khimera i bought (for my daughter). I have been loving the first one for 3 years. I think it is the best PDF for SUP: it is slim and does not have big front pockets. This makes it easier to climb back on SUP. I am also happy with the customer service from the seller. Few days after I've bought it, it went on sale. The seller kindly agreed to refund the difference.

I picked this up for $120 in 2024 and thought it was a good value. I don't think it's worth full price, but this is a really versatile life jacket and I wear it every time I'm on a boat

Solid piece, worth every dollar. I use it in the Puget Sound. We've manually inflated it once. Re-arming is a breeze.

I have used this item for 2 years now and the construction is great.
