Given the age of this product, I was relived to find it at a reasonable price on Amazon (thanks KVM Trading).The selection of games pre-installed could have been better and it's a shame that Sony couldn't have added more games. I'm positive various reasons are the cause for the middling selection: that's not to say however that there aren't good games here!Hearing the PS1 start-up sound is great nostalgia! For those that aren't aware this package includes two controllers and is based on the first pre-Dual Shock controllers for the PS1. The cable length is short. There's two workarounds: purchase a M-F USB extension or use a 8Bit-Do USB Wireless Receiver (this is what I've done and now playing PS Classic using a Dual Shock 4 controller). The PS Classic also does not include an AC adapter, so be sure to use a USB Mico B cable you have in the house or purchase one.Thanks to folks on the Internet, it's possible to soft mod the system and add your own games to it (which circumvents the pre-installed games to a point).Overall I'm chuft with this system. The games on offer deliver a small vertical slice of what the PS1 offered back in the day. It's a great package for people my age (in their 30's) to reminiscence about simpler times and for younger folks to experience some of the games available in the 90's/early 2000's.

Jailbreak using Project Eris. This also carry’s out the OTG mod and will allow you to connect a USB drive to the rear of the unit via the USB Power port freeing up the 2 USB ports on the front for controllers. You now can add roms your self to the usb stick or load more emulator cores other than the PS1.. Also you can now add a wireless adaptor and get the ps1 mini on your network to make loading roms easier, setting up Scraping for artwork is now possible also via WiFi. Buy one before the price goes up.oh yes and get a wireless controller adaptor from 8bitdo it will allow you to connect PS4 type controllers giving you back the analogue sticks.

The PS1 Classic arrived on time and in perfect condition. It's a great console and brought back so many years of memories playing the original PS 1. The reason I deducted a star is because you can't play any actual games on it. You can only play the games that are preloaded.

The product details mention that it's smaller, but not smaller to the point it doesn't even take disks. The price point suggests that its a fully working console, but in-fact your limited to only 20 pre-installed games (I thought the 20 pre-installed games were a bonus, not that your limited to only them lol). Completely misleading and kind of embarrassing that Sony are even selling this.

So I got this knowing that the "console" was just a terrible PS1 emulator in a 3d printed mini Playstation.But from the many reviews that I've seen, the build quality of the controllers is a 1:1 replica of the originals.I wanted them for my classic game collection on PC for that extra retro feel, and in that regard, they're perfect.theyre D-input usb controllers so they just work out the box!I fully intend to "modify" my console tho, so that it can have more games on it.The reason I gave this 3 stars is just cos the controllers are BRAND NEW 1st party quality ps1 controllers that is something that you cannot buy anymore.If it was a review based on the console itself, it would have been 1 star.
