Item was returned
I have used a moka pot for about thirty years so know how to use them and what to expect and I still read the instructions as this was a different make to my present one cup one. It looks nice and you get lots of extras but it did not work, water was left in the base each time and the bottom was starting to get burnt if I kept it on the heat even though I was using the smallest gas ring on low. It was returned. Thank goodness for Amazon. After I sent this back and received a refund the company got in touch with me, which I was very impressed with. They confirmed that the item was obviously faulty and apologised for this and I decided to give them another try as I was still looking for an upgrade from my old Marimba one cup. I am glad that I did as this one is wonderful and certainly lives up to the very positive reviews that had persuaded me to buy it in the first place. It looks good and as I said above it comes with lots of extras but most importantly it makes a very good cup of coffee.

Very good little espresso maker.
Very pleased with this little double espresso maker. It's more stylish than the traditional pots, easier to clean and does the job perfectly. You fill the bottom pot up with water to just under the valve, put your ground coffee in the pot, tap it down, screw top jug bit on. On my induction hob I put it on number 6 and after a bit you get the hissing noise and hey presto your espresso is ready. I use the kirkland Colombian ground coffee, 1.25kg is around £15 and it tastes perfect. Very pleased with it.

Classy consistent performance + unexpectedly decent extras
After 3ish months of daily use I'm more than happy to give this great bit of kit a big thumbs up.Bought as a stand in while my aged Gaggia awaits repairs, its done a decent job of keeping me caffinated. Brew quality is consistent and doesn't suffer from that "burnt" taste you can get with some mocha-pots, tho if u actually pay attention while brewing up this really shouldn't be an issue anyway...Pros:- Makes a consistent decent base for americano- is not aluminium- well built- sturdy- very easy to clean and re-assemble- personal pref but I think its also pretty classy looks wiseCons:- nothingPs. Special mention for the extras included in the box. First of all I'd not been expecting anything other than the pot and what got sent (storage bag, measuring spoon, cleaning tool, cork mat, spare seal) are also decent quality.

Lasted just over a year
Lasted just over a year, daily use on an induction, and then the bottom perforated and now water drips out of the bottom and won't pressurise. DON'T BUY

Works well on an induction hob
I wanted to make Cuban-style coffee and purchased both this cafetera and a cheaper aluminium one (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09H6N6XQ5) from Amazon. The other cafetera gives a more faithful Cuban-style cup (stronger but with more silt), and this one gives something closer to a strong Americano. Neither produces much crema, and I wouldn't call either an espresso. This cafetera feels substantial, is well-made, and is larger. It works very well on an induction hob, which means it is more energy-efficient and provides a much faster brew than the other one. I have a cheap hob (not PWM), but this cafetera works well on a low setting.I think the difference in flavour comes because the basket size is roughly the same between the two cafeteras. This means that unless you underfill the reservoir, the ratio of water to coffee is greater in this cafetera than in others. The result is still quite nice, but it's body is noticeably less viscous than Cuban coffee. This cafetera has two features that seem meant to reduce the silt in your cup. First, the basket for the coffee has a perforated cover that my other cafetera does not have, so after bubbling up through the grinds the water passes through two pieces of perforated steel before entering the chamber for the brewed coffee. The second screen doesn't seem to have much effect on the quantity of grinds that get through, but the second feature is a sump (like a grenade sump in a foxhole) in the brewed coffee chamber that does a surprisingly good job of collecting them. Provided that you don't pour quickly, you will get very little silt in your cup. The sump does create an extra task for cleaning, however. Finally, there are two other features that may be of interest. First, the inside of the water reservoir seems to be coated with Teflon or other non-stick material. I don't know what this is for, and it doesn't affect performance in any way for me; however, those who are concerned about coatings on cookware may want to be aware of this. Second, at the top of the tube leading from the coffee basket to the brewed coffee chamber, there is a cap that reduces the flow. This makes the flow more uniform (less of the characteristic spurting of a percolator machine) than in the other cafetera.

Chouette article
