I will update in a year or so if I can remember to do it. Installation was a breeze. Just pulled out the pentair IC40 and this unit just went in the same place. The power connection even had 4 pins, same as the pentair. I saw several reviews where it only had two pins. I don’t know if they just added dummy pins or if the pins are actually used for communication with the unit as in the pentair? Literally took 10 minutes to swap, and that was only cause I had to find a strap wrench to disconnect/connect the pipe couplings. It took a while for it to initials the first time. I thought something was wrong, but it did eventually start. It was reading bad salt level as several other reviews mentioned. I checked the salt level and it was at 3000, optimal is 3400 for this unit so I added salt to 3500(even number of bags). Light was still flashing as bad salt level. I was going to call service center, but read the manual instead. Flashing light means the unit is running, but sal levels are out or near out of specification. Salt level was actually good so problem was with the unit. Reading further I saw a note on how to enter the calibration mode for the salt sensor. I did this and made adjustment so it went from reading 6500ppm to 3500ppm(actual level) and it has been working great for 2 weeks. My chlorine is holding at 2ppm running for 6hrs at 70%. My pool is 25k gallons so for a 40k gal pool it would need to be run for longer and at higher percentage output rate. I hope it lasts. I only got 3 years from the pentair, which is awful for the cost of it. Review: Only works for 4 months - This product only worked 4 months. Received the first one in August of 2022 and it quit working by December. The seller replaced it in May 2023 under warranty and by September 2023 it went dead again. It is just outside my 1-yr purchase date so they won’t replace it again. This is a good product for when it worked but for the short use before it breaks at $650 is outrageous. I could have bought a name brand for only $400 more. Disappointed with this company for selling a crappy product and not standing behind it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy, qaulity replacement for Pentair Intellichlor owners *by M***Y on July 12, 2022* It's a drop-in replacement for Pentair Intellichlor (which appears to be the discontinued). The dimensions and threading are exact fit (though for new installs, the included fittings don't appear to be the same dimensions as what was included with IC40, but that shouldn't matter). The power cable works just fine with the existing power center. I have no idea why there are some reviewers who claimed there is an issue with it. This unit appears to be an improvement over the IC40, as well. It has a numeric salt level display, so that you don't have to guess or buy dipsticks, unlike the IC40. The control buttons aren't exactly intuitive, but they aren't all that complicated, either. The only thing to note is that the controls stand significantly taller than the IC40, as you can see in the picture. If your pool installer wasn't a total hack and placed you IC40 below other pipes or in some other awkward position where the top of the unit is obstructed, this should not matter, but do expect it to require more clearance. Overall, it appears to be an excellent unit, perhaps better than IC40.
