What are the Black/White Parts in the diet?

The white chunks are typically potassium sorbate and small pieces of coconut flakes that can't be sifted out during the production process. These are a natural part of the diet. The black parts are insect parts that are an important part of the diet.

What is the right feeding schedule?

Under normal circumstances your gecko will only need 3 to 5 feedings per week. Occasional feeding with live insects is recommended by not required with this diet.

How much should I offer my gecko per feeding?

It depends on the age of your gecko. Most Juveniles should receive about 1/16th of an ounce or a dime size portion. Subadults should receive 1/8th of an ounce or a nickel sized portion. An adult should receive a quarter to about a half ounce portion.

Why shouldn't I freeze the diet to help it last longer?

The ice crystals that form during the freezing process can potentially damage the cell walls of the plant ingredient contents and reduce the overall nutritional value of the diet.

Why does the unrefrigerated prepared feed expire after a day?

The prepared feed can be compared to a fruit smoothie. A fruit smoothie sitting in a humid tropical environment like a gecko terrarium will not last as long as it would while refrigerated.

My geckos LOVE this

This is the 2nd flavor I’ve tried in this brand. First I tried the papaya flavor, both geckos liked it and ate it daily.Then I tried a fruit flavor in a different brand, neither gecko seemed to eat much of it.Then I tried this flavor and they both love it, my chameleon gecko GORGED himself on this stuff! I’ve never seen a lizard get so fat after eating a meal 😄Think I’ll stick with it.

Good for protein

While not necessarily my day geckos favorite Pangea flavor, I add it into their food rotation to get protein in their diets. This is an especially good Pangea flavor to provide to baby day geckos who are growing! I put my Pangea packets in a ziplock bag and toss them in my refrigerator to extend their shelf life. I like the brand and my geckos seem to like the food overall too, which is important since they’re the ones eating it!
