Bernzomatic doesn’t honor warranty
Works awesome, while it lasts. Ignitor quit last week, I purchased it in July of 2017. I use it professionally, it comes out maybe once or twice a week. I Called bernzomatic, attempted cleaning it per their tech. It didn’t fix the issue, and they are refusing warranty service. They are telling me I need to deal with amazon, amazon says I need to deal with bernzomatic. It says right on their website that it’s lifetime guarantee and service can be obtained through any bernzomatic retailer or by calling the 1800 number. We told the tech at bernzomatic, who said it didn’t matter and they would need to update the site. I feel foolish that I bought another one 6 months ago for home and that I’ve been recommending this specific torch to all the guys at work, a few of which bought one. I made sure they all know about this experience, and it will be the last bernzomatic product I buy. The money isn’t even the issue, it’s a $40 tool. The issue is they don’t stand behind it. Buyer beware.

Wow, Huge change of opinion!
Disappointing! It takes between 3 and 15 clicks of the igniter to get this thing to light. I assumed that at this price it would be a good item and work as advertised, but apparently not. If you buy this expecting it to work well you will be disappointed. Now its a month later and it takes 20 to 30 clicks to get it to light. This thing is about worthless!!OK, huge change of opinion! I could not fathom how so many reviews loved this and I did not. So I decided to return it and Amazon offered to send a replacement. Seemed prudent to try this and apparently I got a bad one. This can happen in any product line, no matter how good they generally are. Now my new one lights the first or second time every time. I am happy, and Amazon was super helpful in fixing the problem. Thanks Amazon and thanks to the Bernzomatic company.

Safer with a large diameter tank.
This is a 4-way review, perhaps most relevant to Sous Vide Cooks: 1) Heat Gun, 2) torch, 3) Searzall, 4) Fan NozzleFirst purchase, the Porter Cable PC1500HG electric heat gun, but found it lacking for finishing meat cooked Sous Vide. At the time of purchase, I was not aware of the Fan Nozzle. However, it is a great heat gun. Cost, $28.30Next purchase, the popular Benzomatic TS8000 torch and the companion Searzall Torch Attachment. The torch is a great replacement to my old propane torch, particularly the instant on/off, and the Searzall adds functionality as shown in numerous Youtube videos. Cost, $40 torch, $75 Searzall, total $114.Then I discovered the Porter Cable Fan Nozzle that fits the Porter Cable PC1500HG heat gun, making it almost as efficient as the Searzall and Torch for searing meat. AND I can use the Porter Cable heat gun indoors with the meat on a cheap, steel “jellyroll” pan, which I usually place on my gas range just in case some hot air strays beyond the edges of the pan. Put the nozzle a fraction of an inch above the meat, and it sears rather quickly. Cost, $11.44.Yes! I paid 10x the cost of the nozzle for the Searzall and Torch! I will sometimes use the Searzall, but only when I have enough searing to justify taking the task outdoors. Most of the time, the time for moving everything outside, getting the torch from the garage, returning the torch, and moving back indoors makes it just as efficient to use the electric heat gun indoors, perhaps more so.All work great products, but sometimes I think that had I known then what I know now, I could have saved $114. However, the Searzall is hotter than the torch and covers a larger area.

Poor spark ignition and leaking gas after 2 weeks use.
It seems quality control has gone badly wrong with several buyers having the same faults. Poor spark ignition and in my case the main body housing started to leak gas after only 2 weeks of home use. After putting a simple soap bubble test on all the joints/openings my unit let gas escape from the constant use silver button on the top of the black cast housing - see picture. No reply from customer service.

what a terrible service.
Torch broke, the small hole in the bottom starter leaking gas turning into unstoppable fire, huge fire hazard and unsafe. Had to wait until the tank runs out of gas before I could unscrew it.Contacted warranty service since it was under 1 year, never got a reply back, what a terrible service.

Best torch for cooking I've used
I ordered this torch specifically for searing meat for sous-vide cooking but have ended up using it for everything. It’s great for any cooking applications, starting campfires and wood stoves, soldering piping, and lighting fireworks. It starts on the first trigger pull every time and the flame adjustment is precise. It also works with multiple fuels. It can burn much hotter than any other cooking or blowtorch I’ve ever used. I’ve very happy with it.Pros: Incredibly hot flame for searing food Multi fuel compatibleCons: None yet

Owned one that I broke after years of use. Went back to a cheap torch for a while and regretted it.
This is the second Bernzomatic torch of this style that I've owned. This newer model puts out much more heat than my first one. If you ever own a swirl flame style torch you'll never go back to the pencil tip. You can turn down the valve so that you can still get a pencil tip, but you can turn it up for some serious heating and brazing. If you try this with the cheap torches, you'll blow out the flame well before you get a flame like this. There have been a number of critical reviews on it not lighting easily. There is a technique whereby you partially pull the trigger until the gas is flowing and then pull it the rest of the way to ignite the gas. A quick pull will create a spark before the gas is flowing and not light the first try. One more nice characteristic is that this torch will light whether you have it set at a small flame or turned up hot. Traditional torches always have to be turned down for them to light.

NEARLY WHAT I WANTED
I have already reviewed this but it has not shown up on the site:Item bought via Amazon from USA. It arrived very quickly and has been used. It feels sturdy and well built. Overall it works well but, I wanted it to use in confined areas, which meant turning it upside down. It did not work fully upside down, as stated in blurb, but kept flaming out. I might have to buy a hose and bottle to stop this. Also, as expected, it has a USA thread fitting which therefore needs an EU adaptor which is easy to get, (CGA600 thread to EU 7/16" thread).

Safety issues
Gas leaked out of a small hole which I think is some kind of safety valve so I returned it it would of ignited if I had lit the torch so much for there Q A

Ok product, rude and unprofessional company to deal with if it breaks
My old one stopped working, so I called for a replacement and was told they don't do replacements. I'd have to send it to them, at my cost, and they'd "fix" it, which I would also have to pay for. This is something I use for work, it's not a toy. I told them no thanks, and went and bought a new one on amazon only because there's no others like it. I would have bought some other brand if I could find it but don't have the time to search..Over all. Not impressed with their customer service. They're rude and offensive. It's an ok product, but Bernzomatic aren't very professional in my opinion.
