Awesome Addition for Hand Mixer
I've had a small, red Kitchenaid hand mixer for a few years now but it never came with a beater/whisk. For awhile I assumed I didn't need one but I finally broke down and bought it since I do a lot of baking.I cannot be happier. It fits perfectly into one side of my hand mixer and whisks very well and very quickly. It does the job so much better (and faster) than the traditional beaters that I nearly l lost control of the mixer because of its speed. This whisk is great for heavy cream, egg whites, or even just scrambling eggs. I use it so much now, I wonder how I ever got by without it.

Much better than an hand blender
Up until now, I thought I needed to buy an expensive hand blender set to get an automatic whisk feature. This attachment for an ordinary hand mixer is the superior choice. The mixer can be run for 3-5 minutes straight, which is how long it takes to make a decent hollandaise sauce. A hand blender can only be run a max of 30 seconds at a time and the power button must be held down the entire time, which is very difficult for a person with arthritis. With this whisk, I can turn the mixer on to medium speed and make an entire batch of hollandaise sauce with no effort at all. This also applies to meringues, whipped cream, and a whole lot of other things that I would use a whisk for. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. If you already have a KitchenAid hand mixer, this is an inexpensive alternative to a fancy hand blender. Get the cheap blender and this and you've got just about everything covered.

Kitchen Aid wisk for hand mixer.
Delivery was quick! It is what I expected. It works with my Kitchen Aid hand mixer for whipping (e.g. heavy cream).

More volumizing in a hand held mixer
The balloon whisk attachment (a single whisk) does improve beating of egg whites as it incorporates more air than the standard beaters. However, a stand mixer with double beaters does a faster and more complete job. For the times when you need to quickly beat up something and don't want to drag out the heavy stand mixer this is ideal. The beater is inserted into one of the holes (directions are fuzzy about which) and it does NOT have the "collar" (found on one of the beaters). A call to customer service determined that the directions in the manual are not correct and it doesn't matter which side the whisk is inserted (A or B). To prevent splattering, a tall bowl is recommended.

Works for all iterations of Kitchenaid hand mixers and works well!
I have an older KitchenAid Khm7twh 7 speed Hand Mixer khm7t khm7 white + Dough hooks and my had been using the regular turbo beaters to whip up my own whipped cream and other delights. It usually would take a little more time but eventually my reliable Kitchenaid would whip up what I wanted. I'd never even contemplated there were other attachments that worked just as well until I searched Amazon and discovered there was a whisk attachment. Intrigued I bought one and cannot believe how much better it works at doing the job! Sadly I don't have the Kitchenaid stand mixer and hadn't even contemplated how many different options their hand mixers might have, but now I feel somewhat cheated that I didn't know this was available! If you are big on making your own whipped cream, meringue, or other dishes then this is DEFINITELY something you want!
