KitchenAid KHB1231 2-Speed Hand Blender, Empire Red - KHB1231ER

I recently purchased the KitchenAid KHB1231IC 2-Speed Hand Blender, and it has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets! This hand blender is powerful, efficient, and super easy to use. With two speeds, it handles everything from blending smoothies to pureeing soups with ease.The design is sleek and comfortable to hold, making it a breeze to maneuver. Cleanup is a cinch, as the removable blending arm.Overall, this hand blender has exceeded my expectations and has made meal prep so much easier. I use this handheld mixer all of the time. I love whipping up whipping cream and storing it in the fridge for a special treat on yummy snacks or blackberries. It's a handy gadget and comes with it's own container to mix and blend things. I think it's convenient and great.

I'm a kitchen gadget fiend and freely admit it. There are some items that I buy and then realize they aren't as useful as I thought they would be. Others becomes indispensable. This blender definitely falls in that category! I've had it for 8 years and it's still working as beautifully as it did on day one.This little guy is a great deal - great brand which has well made products and easy to use customer service if you ever need it. This is a good price on a stick/immersion blender, and it comes with a very handy container with lid to blend/store in. Although you can blend in any container it can be hard to find ones with nice tall sides to help prevent splatter. Mostly important if you're working with something hot or something that might stain!I use this most often to correct lumps in my frosting or white sauces. I also use it to quickly thicken up soups by partially blending them. It may not have the power of my Vitamix but it does an amazing job and it very quick/easy to pull out AND clean up. Nice long cord to reach all the way into the pot on the stove from wherever your outlet may be. My only complaint is that food can build up along the edge of the rubber seal on the inside of the metal area covering the base of the blades. I normally use a toothpick to clean along this edge and once in a while run a knife under the lip to make sure all the gunk gets cleaned out.Other than that I love everything about the design of this blender and wholeheartedly recommend it!

This has been one of the most useful things I could have ever purchased after having a baby. I have made all of my baby's food since she started eating solids and this hand blender makes easy work of it! My little girl HATED lumpy foods and so I purchased this so that I could get even smaller quantities of foods blended fully since my other blender couldn't do such small quantities. When you're first trying new foods, you don't always want to make 5 cups of pureed vegetables so this was perfect!The only think I wish it came with is a second cup that is bigger. Now that I know what my baby can eat, I tend to want to make things in bulk and freeze them. This container only holds 3 cups so if you want to make more than that, you have to use another container or do more than one batch. I often will blend things like oatmeal and fruit right in the pot that I make it in but if the pot is too shallow, sometimes I risk getting sprayed with oatmeal if I lift the mixer up too much. The tall cup definitely works best.

From the wife:I bought this blender back in July to replace one that broke quite a while ago. I received the product in a timely manner.What I like about it:1. It's a pretty strong little immersion blender. I've used it many times and am pleased with how it works. I've not tried it with ice but I have blended frozen fruit for a smoothie and it worked really well. Last night I used it to mix organic peanut butter with the oil on top and I almost thought I broke it as it stopped working lol. But I just had to clean out the blade area and it worked fine after that. It can be tough mixing that type of peanut butter so it gave me a chance to check out how it would do.2. I like that I can take this hand blender apart to store it and that the bottom half is made of metal.3. I like that it came with a container with a to lid make my smoothie in. It's not a strong plastic container so I'm not sure how long it will last.What I'm not so keen on:1. I don't care for the fact that you have to hold the button in to keep the blender on as you blend with it. It's a bit uncomfortable and tiring. Someone with arthritis might find it difficult. it would be nice to just press the button to turn it on and then one to turn it off, something I failed to check for.2. As others noted, you have to line up the two halves of the blender just right and then turn to lock it. I like the fact that it is strong and stays put, but it can be a little hard to turn and take a part if your hands are even slightly wet or greasy. Make sure your hands are completely dry.All in all I am very happy with this blender.
