Fast acting.
The media could not be loaded. Started some mash and let the temp get down to 75-85 f,add the yeast and within an hour this pale was perking like never before. This is going to be a great batch.

Keep warm, leave head room for foam and don't expect 20% every time
Great stuff, works best at temperatures between 75 and 85 degrees. Just know if gets below 70 your mash will virtually stop fermenting. Also it flocculates and settles on the bottom real well, especially if you cool it down over night before pouring your mash out and you can reuse it quite easily, but I would definitely recommend separating it as much as possible from the left over mash because it makes a bad taste in your next batch and also use it 50/50 with fresh yeast. My beef with this yeast is that only two times out of a dozen have I ever hit a specific gravity of 20% ABV. Always 18ish but rarely the 20% it claims. Another down side is that it foams real bad, probably the most of any yeast I have used so leave your mash plenty of head roam, especially if your using chocolate (like half the container).

This product is tricky
At first i didnt think this yeast wasnt going to work. i learned that this yeast is very temperature sensitive. It did not do much until i had my ambient temp at 75 degrees. Once i miantained 75 this yeast was excellent!! wash ended up at 15% abv. medium off flavors but good for a stripping run.

Don't use this for wine/beer
This is not a bad product. It will get your alcoholic content of your brew to new heights, so it does as it advertises. But it does this at the cost of the flavor of the brew. This yeast ruined my reduced the quality of my honey wine significantly. If all you care about is getting as much alcohol out of the yeast then this is the yeast for you. I would look else where if you want to preserve the flavor. I would use this again for distilling for hard liquor or if I am making hooch to get drunk.

In my non scientific opinion - it seems to work
I'm doing some kitchen experiments to see if I can make CO2 for my aquarium and in my non scientific opinion, this stuff smells like yeast, bubbles like yeast, looks like yeast, so I've come to the conclusion it works. I think it even makes some alcohol too. Seems to be pretty temperate tolerant - from 70's to 90's is when it's producing CO2 at the highest rate. Doesn't create a lot of foam, it's even whisper quiet!
