Hi Bruce, there is no need to use a 3D Sync Transmitter on your Sony XBR55X850C. The said Sony TV has already a built-in 3D transmitter and this Sony TMR-BR100 works only on Sony TV HX series only. -Ely

In the research that I did prior to purchasing the Sony Playstation 3D glasses, they are compatible with the transmitter. The only reason that I purchased the Sony Playstation 3D glasses was due to the rating of them. If you do a search for the glasses you are inquiring about, it will show what items were/are bought together and the transmitter bar is one of them. If you read the reviews also, there is a comparison of the Sony Playstation 3D glasses and the TDG-BR250 glasses and they were equal just about in ratings. So, I would say that you will be fine if you purchased this transmitter with those 3D glasses. Hope that this helps you.

I can watch 3d from sony blu ray 3d in my tv 55nx810 but when the movie 3d is from my cable provider i just see two vertical images. why it happens?

I am not sure to answer the question. You can try set up 3D view from sony remote to choose which view 3D is working. If not call cable tech support They can help how to setup cable box to view 3D movie
