Fun to use and quite the workout. Once the lid is secure and not leaking it was actually a workout. Felt like we were earning the right to ice cream. It was delicious!!

I bought this for my son and his family, but he didn't like it. He said it takes too much work and that takes all the fun out of making your own ice cream.

Used it without the inflatable cover and it worked well. Must follow instructions to a T, or will leak slightly as cream expands. Is not completely round, more of an oval, so rolls slightly off center if you roll too quickly. Also wish the outside grooves weren't there, not only not very comfortable to roll, but if it does leak slightly before you release pressure and mix before second roll, clean up is hard. Inside metal container aids in quick mix of ice cream, but quick removal from sides can be difficult before continuing to roll. Still was fun for the kids, healthier option for ingredient control, and final cleanup was easy!

Lame. Wish we had used it in the 30 days after we got it so I could return it. It's enormoes, so 4yr olds could not help in the process, so there went that camping activity. The inflatoble cover popped within minutes of gentle handling. A huge mess to clean. Expensive camping entertainment purchased at sunset magazines recommendation. Total fail. Not worth it.

Leaks a little so make sure you don't keep it off your rugs unless you like salty tracks. I actually don't mind kicking it around but can think of a better use of 30 minutes. However it has twice managed to turn my children into screaming, crying maniacs. It's not like I was over them yelling like a drill Sargent yelling "You want ice cream kid, well it's not going to roll itself to creamy delight-fullness, now lets dribble that ball GO!" I got it and offered to do all the legwork. The fault is that is a horribly attractive idea for a small child but a bit too much of a task. I'm thinking of dropping it off at a crossfit just to see what happens.

We bought this and made vanilla ice cream with m&m's. We could only find kosher salt, but it still worked great....it just took about 10 minutes longer. We have since found rock salt. We sat in a circle and rolled the ball and 'tossed it'. Sometimes we took turns shaking it or going real fast, etc. We used the timer on the phone to track our time. My kids loved this and the ice cream was really good too! I would definitely recommend this.

Too much work

Great product. Sturdy and functions as advertised...Makes great ice cream in about 30 minutes. Was surprised that it made so much.
