The intelligently designed Inertia X Lite is ultra compact, super comfortable, and weighs a mere 6.1 ounces – the lightest pad in its class. Body mapping technology puts support where its needed, deep welds up the thermal efficiency, and patent-pending Loft Pocket Technology positions the chambers to maximize your sleeping bag’s performance and eliminate unnecessary materials that add weight. It inflates in just a couple of breaths, packs to about the size of a banana, and is built with durable fabrics for years of use. Comfortable -- Body Mapping: Advanced patterning places chambers only where padding is needed and eliminates them where they are not, allowing the X Lite to shed significant weight without sacrificing comfort. -- Loft Pockets: Empty spaces between the chambers serve as expansion zones that allow your sleeping bag to fully loft beneath you, maximizing its thermal performance. -- Inflation and Deflation: Pad rapidly inflates in as few as 2-4 breaths, and a hand pump is included for more rapid inflation and the ability to reach a higher PSI. The valve’s intelligent design allows for micro adjustments to fine tune pressure and comfort. -- The Right Size: At 48” long, the streamlined size is tapered to fit the body and allows the pad to be used inside or outside of your sleeping bag. -- Ergonomic Head Support: Comfortable, secure head support is integrated into the pad’s design.

Surprisingly comfortable for side sleeping
I bought this camping mattress as an experiment in UltraLite backpacking. (6oz for a pad is nicely small!) For warm trips, it's been fantastic. I've been very pleasantly surprised that I actually like the shape (for reference, I'm a 5'2'' female). As a side sleeper, I can fit my shoulder into the holes, which makes sleeping on the hard ground much more comfortable. I find it a little bit uncomfortable to have my feet on the ground (below my hips), but if I prop them up on my backpack then I am perfectly happy. On the other hand, I'm not sure that I believe the claims that the holes actually make the sleeping bag warmer. I have a very heavy-duty sleeping bag (0F), but have been cold lying on this mat in my sleeping bag in 40° rainy weather, because the mattress does not insulate you from the ground very well. I would recommend this to anyone for summer camping, but for winter camping I would suggest that holes are not what you want. It's possible that all this would work differently for someone taller than I am, since a taller person might find that your head, shoulders, and hips all fit on the inflated parts, whereas for me many of these protruding body parts fit (very comfortably, but not warmly) in the holes.

Definitely not for everyone.
Giving a product like this stars seems to be of limited utility, since sleeping comfort is so subjective, but for what it's worth, I couldn't justify using this.I really like the Klymit Static V2, which is great from a weight and compactness sandpoint. From a warmth standpoint, not so much. So I couple it with a closed-cell foam pad on top, which ends up warmer and more comfortable than the sum of its parts. I thought it might be worth trying that with this pad, but even with the closed-cell pad on top, it just didn't cushion enough.Kudos for making a pad that's as small and light as this one is for those who can tolerate it, but it's not for me.

Backup pad for side sleeper
This is pretty minimal. I can't imagine sleeping on this alone, though some people do, more power to them. Me, I'm a mostly side sleeper, so sleeping while backpacking can be pretty rough. Additionally, since I do many mountaineering trips, the primary is always the z-pad, since it can never really "break." However, the comfort level is abysmal for a side sleeper. I bought this to supplement on top of the pad, so if weight isn't super-critical, I can bring this along for extra comfort.Used it for about a year now, all sorts of trips (car camping, winter mountaineering, backpacking, raft camping, summer mountaineering -- sleeping on everything from inside of a car to packed dirt and rocks to packed snow) and no issues. This thing is tiny and weighs nearly nothing. There's rarely a trip where I feel like I can't bring it. And it's brought the comfort level of sleeping up so much. That said, I can't speak for sleeping on this alone.

Yes, it's actually comfortable!
I've had an opportunity to use the Inertia X Lite for three nights so far and I've been suprized by how comfortable it actually it. It was originally an experiment to see if I could sleep on such a minimal pad, turns out I can. I'm primarily a stomach sleeper and this works quite well. I pair it with my Gossamer Gear thinlight and have been comfortable in the low 40s.I love that it only takes 2.5 breaths to inflate compared to my other Klymit static V UL and Thermarest Xlite short pads which are 12-15 breaths. It deflates super fast too. It's much more comfortable than just using a foam pad which is what I was looking for. Maybe not as comfortable as my full length air pads but it's only 5.6oz! well worth it for such a significant weight savings. It's cheap too!

This is the best sleeping pad I have ever owned
This is the best sleeping pad I have ever owned. I used it for 7 months straight when I completed the Appalachian Trail. 5 months straight on the Pacific Crest Trail, Yosemite for a few weeks, on a mountain in Peru (overlooking the sunrise on Machu Piccu {was illegal btw]), and many other camping trips that number in the 100's, The comfort, durability, weight, pack size, and price can't be beat!

It's worth it
I *LOVED* this thing. I was really skeptical about it, but took a chance on it anyway. Turns out that it's super comfortable and supportive. I was comfortable on my side and back when sleeping. I tried sleeping without it on just a therm-a-rest pad but my back was hurting. The next night I inflated this thing and the pain was gone. I used it for a 10 day trip and it held up great, no holes or leaks. Also it takes almost no room in your pack and inflates with only 2-3 breaths.Highly recommend that you pair this with a therm-a-rest pad for a complete sleeping system.

Excellent quality and performance!
Great product! Used it on mountaineering trip camping at altitude of 3500 meters with ambient temperature around zero C while sleeping in Black Diamond Firstlight tent. Very conveniently fits into sleeping bag. Thing is of tiny size when packed is very light. I would certainly recommend this when weight is of essence. Or in very cold weather conditions it will work great as additional insulator to your usual pad. Highly recommended!

Good, but...
Brilliantly designed, absolutely tiny when rolled up. Used for a week of bikepacking and it worked well. Tip: put inside the sleeping bag to stop it moving around. It's fine for warm weather, i.e. when the ground isn't cold... however, overall I'd recommend the full length version (the yellow one). The slightly greater size and few additional grams are worth it especially if the temperature is a bit lower. Legs get cold on the ground.

Way better than expected!
Panic purchase before a lightweight 2 day self-sufficient running event. Performed way better than I expected in below zero temperatures. Packs down really small and light, 4 puffs only to inflate and stayed fully inflated all night. I’m short and quite light so would highly recommend for my size, not sure how a tall person would get on with it but it’s worth a go. Must be used INSIDE your sleeping bag.

Small pack size and quick to inflate
Packs into a teeny weeny pack size. Just takes the bite out of hard surfaces. Used in a bivvy bag or directly in the sleeping bag offers protection from punctures but seems fairly durable. Hasn't punctured yet and it's had some abuse. Really quick to inflate too.

Good/ bad points
Not the most comfortable sleep pad out there but went for this for its small packed size and light weight.

Companion to a Thermarest SOL Z-lite foam mat = awesome comfort
I bought this mat as a companion to a Thermarest SOL Z-lite foam mat for 2 reasons:- The Z-lite wasn't quite enough insulation below freezing for me- I'm a side-sleeper so the Z-lite was "ok" but I wanted more cushioningPack weight was another consideration so I didn't want a ton of extra weight to carry. I backpack on terrain that can be tough on inflatable mats so having the Z-lite is a must (It's also my sitting and gear mat on the trail). The Kylmit X Lite adds that extra layer of insulation and comfort I was looking for. For my setup I have in my tent the Z-lite then the Klymit then my sleeping bag. The extra cushioning on my hips and that little extra pocket of air between the X-lite and the Z-lite makes a world of insulation difference. At -7C the setup worked great with my standard 3 season bag. I found no need to use or carry the pump. The Klymit X Lite is very small, and as a companion product adds lots of extra comfort with very little extra weight.

A compromise between weight/space savings and comfort
I like klymit products so I was disappointed to see that my pad came with a leaky valve which caused the pad to completely deflate within 5 minutes. I was able to seal the leak with crazy glue and now the pad remains inflated, but I would have preferred the pad to work properly out of the box. This pad is very compact and lightweight, but the space and weight savings comes at the sacrifice of comfort. I was pleasantly surprised by the padding it provided when sleeping on my back - klymit’s body mapping works! However it doesn’t work well when I rolled onto my side. I am 5’9” and the pad works for me, but I don’t think it would work for a tall person. It is also very narrow.Like I wrote above, I’m a fan of klymit products and own another pad and pillow made by them. That said, unless you are a serious grams counter, I would not recommend this pad. Although my neo air is double the weight and cost, it is exponentially more comfortable!I have found a new use for this pad as part of my winter camping sleeping system. I have always hated hauling my closed cell foam pad that I used with my klymit insulated static v lite. So I have replaced the foam pad and now use the inertia x lite pad inside my sleeping bag, in conjunction with my static v to provide a little added padding and loft off the cold ground.

I slept on the ground
It busted too easily, and 3/4 length while sounds great is just uncomfortable unless your a very still back sleeper

Would not recommend for anything close to or below freezing
Definitely ultralight and compact. Would not recommend for anything close to or below freezing. Great for super lightweight summer camping or to use in a house or car camping.
