I could not be happier with this purchase, and am getting ready to Pin it on Pinterest and tell everyone I know with natural hair to try this product. I came across this on Amazon, while looking at hair products and decided to give it a try. The packing is standard -- which is just fine. No need to pay extra for sleek packaging when a simply jar works fine. The scent is VERY LIGHT, which is super important to me. And the consistency is light to the touch. It smooths on easily and combs through even easier. I understand that by using "mask" as a descriptor, it sets the expectation for the consumer that this isn't a quick part of your hair care routine. But it doesn't have that weighty, sticky, hard-to-rinse consistency of other hair masks. The directions are easy and give you two options -- you can sit under a dryer for 15 minutes, or leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour if you don't have a dryer. Personally, I like flexible instructions. And, as my hooded dryer is out of commission, I decided to wait until I had time to sit (do household chores) with the mask for a full hour. It rinses out very easily (who wants to waste water? not I.) and left my hair feeling soft and easy to comb out. What I've noticed in the days since using it is that without using any other product, my hair still has a nice shine to it. It's truly well-moisturized. Not a blogger, not a brand-influencer, not a beautician, not a YouTube personality -- just a busy mom who needs to do at-home natural hair care. Yes, get it.

This mask definitely makes my hair feel soft and moisturized after use, which I really appreciate. However, I'm not sure if it's truly effective for maintaining and defining curls in the long term. It works well as a deep conditioner, but I'm still on the fence about whether it gives lasting benefits for my curls. Overall, it’s a good product, just not completely convinced about its long-term effectiveness for curls.

I have 4c collarbone length hair with "no curl pattern" usually. My hair has been struggling to accept and maintain moisture so i bought an electric heat cap and this DC. I washed my hair with an everything free shampoo, did not use conditioner, wrung my hair out and starting slathering this on. It has ZERO slip which was concerning for me. After washing and not conditioning my hair was tangly so i had to carefully apply this and detangle at the same time. I put my hair in a few twists and sat under my heat cap for about 45min. When i rinsed my hair was so soft and moisturized. It had a very nice light sweet scent and I recognized most of the ingredients (stabilizers are necessary). A little goes a long way. I did a wash n go puff with a spritz of leave in and eco styler. I can only achieve "curls" when my hair is hydrated to the max. Takeaways: if you have 4c hair, make sure you prepoo and detangle because this is not a good detangler. I definitely think it was beneficial to skip my regular conditioner and let this set in. Whatever DC you use GET A HEAT CAP! It is amazing. I liked the scent, it wasn't strong and you couldn't smell much of it after rinsing. It left my hair feeling soft and hydrated without being mushy. I definitely recommend.

Best on the Market. Hands Down. My hair is 3C 4B. Love this product. Can't imagine being without it. That being said, for the past two months I have had difficulty purchasing this item. This has forced me to look for alternatives. So far no luck. And while I contuine to purchase other TGIN products. This honey mask is my favorite. Let me go one step farther...I use it as a mostizer and to define my curls. So let's address cost. I am buying one product instead of 3. I do not wash this product out of my hair. Instead I use about the size of a quarter and work it through my hair. In the winter my scalp is normally dry. Not with this product. Last my hair has stop breaking.

This hair mask is a game changer. I have type four hair, And my curls, love it!! I apply the mask after shampooing and set under a plastic cap. I sat under a hooded dryer on high for 20 minutes. The product does say 10 to 15. A little extra won’t do you harm! After rinsing it out, my hair felt incredibly soft and very easy to detangle. It’s very thick, and I love it’s thickness and smell! It left no residue on my hair. I am in love with this hair mask! I’ve used a sample once and fell in love with it then. This will be my new go to! ☺️

A great moisturising hair conditioner. I leave mine in for a few hours as I do other things and then wash out. Hair feels soft and moisturised after the treatment.

Update: February 2021 - Just wanted to mention, I am still using this conditioner faithfully, but I no longer bother deep conditioning my hair first, and I simply use this like a regular rinse-out conditioner after shampooing my hair (I still use the same products mentioned in my review below, and I still apple cider vinegar rinse every weekend). I think my hair finally got to a point where I no longer needed to replenish as much moisture, so using it just as regular conditioner has given me the same results of soft, long-lasting moisturized hair. Holy grail product which has stood the rest of time! ______ For reference I have naturally curly (mostly 3a, some 3b sections) hair which is high density, fine, and INCREDIBLY low porosity. This is my favourite hair mask of all time, and I have tried dozens. I dislike scented products but this one has a very mild, pleasant scent that I enjoy and it doesn't seem to bother my sensitive scalp. How I use this: I always deep condition my hair BEFORE I wash it--if you suffer from dry hair, try DCing first. I promise, it's a game changer. I wet my hair down by dunking it in a bowl full of warm water and then layer in this conditioner all over, emulsifying the conditioner with warm water in my hands before I apply it. Do this until your hair feels like seaweed (slimy, soft, and totally moisturized). I then put a shower cap on and apply my hot heads heat cap over top and let this sit on my hair for about 30 minutes. Then I shower. I wash my hair with a neem-based sulfate-free shampoo (Theraneem) for a healthy scalp, then I do an apple cider vinegar rinse (while still in the shower), follow that up with a co-wash to get out any build-up that the vinegar didn't remove (low porosity hair is notorious for build up and since i only wash my hair once a week, I can get away with vinegar rinsing and double-cleansing my hair without stripping it). Then I use the TGIN deep conditioner again but in a small amount, let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse out with warm water. I'm left with the most nourished, moisturized, lasting-softness and it carries me all through the week. I just ADORE this product!
