Consistent temperature readings if used correctly. Read this!
I am very careful when choosing body temperature thermometers as the temperature range for the body is narrow and just a degree of error is a lot. I chose this thermometer because reviews before mine were positive and it has both ear and forehead modes. At the time of purchase, the price for the thermometer was $25.99. I received no incentives from Amazon or the seller for this review; I just care a lot about my thermometers. :^)METHODS: To assess the precision of this thermometer, I took measurements in various locations and modes all in one sitting. I measured temperature from my right ear (in ear measurement mode), the center of my forehead (with contact), different locations across the forehead (with contact), across the forehead with the recommended sliding method, and at the center of my forehead (without contact, ~1 cm between the tip of the thermometer and my forehead). I did not test the mode for measuring objects.RESULTS: With the exception of measuring different locations, this thermometer is very consistent with a standard deviation of 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures measured without contact are consistently lower! Across different locations on the forehead, variation in readings was the greatest. The correct way to measure forehead temperatures with contact (as specified in the included quick guide) is to hold the scan button down while sliding the thermometer from center of forehead to either temple, then releasing the scan button. I assume this averages readings while sliding to produce a more consistent reading.OTHER COMMENTS: As advertised, the thermometer has settings for Celsius or Fahrenheit (a switch in the battery compartment), memory for 35 readings, a setting for noise alerts or muted, and different modes for measuring forehead, ear, or object temperatures. Forehead mode is the default when the cap is left on, and thermometer automatically switches to ear mode when the cap is removed. Object-measurement mode is set by holding down the memory/mute button with the device off.The product comes in a single box with documentation, a drawstring pouch, two AAA batteries, and the thermometer. The exterior of the thermometer is plastic. The thermometer is easy to hold and surprisingly light. The ear probe cover is a little difficult to take off and there are not instructions for how they recommend removing it. I've found it helps to press both sides of the cover before pulling which helps disengage the clips that keep it on. This review is based on a few days of use. I will update this review if my experience with the product changes over time.

It works!
They say third times the charm. I bought a different manufacturer’s from Amazon and it didn’t work. I returned it and went to target and bought theirs. It was defective. I figured I’d try one more time by reading customer reviews and yours were so good that I ordered it it arrived — and it works wonderfully.

Great value for dollar!!
Like a lot of people I have to take my temp before every shift and as a nurse a good thermometer is important to me. I want it to be fast and accurate. This fits both of those needs, plus some! I had one by Safety First, but it was clunky and inaccurate and difficult to use correctly. This is simple to use in all of its functions. You can do touchless forehead which is great for my two year old or myself for work, inner ear temp by just removing the forehead cover, or even ambient temperatures by holding the memory button for a few seconds. My only complaint about this thermometer is that it doesn’t seem like you can use covers for the first ear thermometer, which means you have to make sure to clean it really well after using the ear probe.Otherwise, it’s lightweight and only two buttons. The instructions are easy to follow, the screen is large and easily readable and you can mute the beeps for middle of the night temperature checks.Definitely a great value.

I like it !!
So far so good. Was happy to see that it uses AAA batteries instead of the button cell did not say in the description. Smaller than the old one that I used to have so it fits in your hand nicely also like the newer feature of having the option to use your ear or your forehead. they also must have stopped calling for us to buy those cone covers to keep the thing clean from ear wax . You can wipe the cone clean yourself anyway no need to buy those things . As of now I would recommend this thermometer.

Easy to use, I love it!
This is the best thermometer I’ve ever used with my kids. My other thermometer had to stay in their ear for 3 seconds, and getting little babies to hold still for 3 seconds is impossible. This gives an instant read.I like that you have the option to do an ear reading or a forehead reading. You also don’t have to touch the thermometer on the head, it can read from a distance. The design is super sleek and easy to use. It’s very light and automatically powers off so you won’t drain all your battery life if you forget. Overall, I love this thermometer. It’s by far the best one I’ve used!

Total Waste!
I had high hopes when I purchased this thermometer via Lightning Deals. However, my hopes quickly plummeted after I tested it on all 4 people in the house and didn't get one single accurate reading. The results were all well below normal; nothing over 96.3. I immediately returned this piece of garbage.

Great thermometer for home or work!
Product arrived quick and on time with batteries so it was ready to go straight out of the box. Can be used to take no-contact readings (just hold an inch from forehead and press scan), or by pressing to forehead and swiping. Also able to take readings by inserting in ear. You can also hold the mode button down for 3 seconds and it switches to a home mode where you can measure room temperature or other items around the house!

NOT ACCURATE!
I read instructions, practiced a little, asked other people to try this-it’s constantly inaccurate. It reads my temp between 94 degrees and 96. I’ve verified against other thermometers. I’m bummed because I spent a long time reading reviews, looking for a decent thermometer. I know there will be variation but 3-4 degrees? That’s useless. It’s never once registered a temperature of 97 or above fir our family of 7 people. Junk!
