I’m a group therapist 25 years and Yalom’s text remains a close companion.
So well written and organized and very persuasive about what can be accomplished in group therapy. It’s effective on me has been a game changer in the ease with which I can communicate with colleagues and clients about my field.

Not your typical textbook
It is very long, but Dr Yalom is great at providing examples and stories that show the many ways a counselor can be flexible and creative to achieve results

Good
Since they stopped renting their books, there probably selling most if them. So not a big fan of the giant sticker. But besides that the book was nicely kept and there was no writing within it.

A must read
Yalom is a classic, this book is essential. Yes, he is wordy and tells the same stories, but this man has revolutionized psychiatry, infusing human decency and vulnerability. If you are assigned this book, READ IT! Yes I know it’s long, but you’ll be a better person
