Litterally it feels like those plates that people buy for children to eat ...
I would've gave this product 3 stars but i gave them 4 stars. It would actually have 5 stars just for these reasons: 3 stars for not having the manual and only a black and white photo of cage put together. The red platforms are really flimsy and cheaply made. Litterally it feels like those plates that people buy for children to eat food in and plastic-y. Secondly, the tiny house did not have any support at all on its own. I needed to reinforce the house with hot glue in order to keep it stable and not to create creases. Furthermore the houses prefferated outline of the door and window is so sharp, that when you punch out the outline, there are still some sharp plastics left that can potentially harm the hamster or small animal.(Not that im saying that my hamster is too heavy or like king kong to live in there. She's a syrian fancy bear hamster fyi.) The hamster wheel is too small, especially for my type of hamster. I literally had to scour the internet to find a wheel proper for her to run in. To add, if you have a small hamster and they use the wheel, it will make a lot of noise with the wheel as it squeaks alot when in use. Despite all of these issues, I'm not an expert in assembling things, but it was extremely easy to assemble. It took me 20 minutes to assemble the cage and I know for sure that my "King Kong" inside likes the cage because she isn't chewing on the metal bars like the other ones I bought at the pet stores. Maybe other users might find it difficult to assemble, but i did not find it hard to assemble but hey we are all different. Finally its a good size cage, especially for the price and the type of hamster I have. If you are looking for a big cage for a syrian this is perfect.(minus the wheel.) If you find this review difficult to understand, trust me, then the assembly will be hard for you too.

Horrible product.
I usually never write reviews. However, this product was so bad to the point where I just had to say something about it. When I was looking for a new home for my newfound hamster, I wanted to get the best quality items for her. I bought snacks, bedding, and what I had remaining was a home. I found this cage and was reassured by other 5 star reviews and how trusty this looked. When it came, I was quite disappointed. The assembly was not only complicated, the instructions were not specific at ALL. I made so many "U-turns" and had to fix so many problems. In the end, I finally got it built. However, the cage was flimsy and weak. After through research, I figured out that the base was also many inches too shallow for my hamster to comfortably burrow. My hamster was also able to escape the cage. Imagine what would've happened if I wasn't there to see it and catch her. The tubes were also horrible. My hamster couldn't even climb up them, even after changing their positions so many times. Lastly, the ladder that was provided to get to the platform on top was full of risks. My hamster's feet could get stuck at anytime and even hurt her legs even to the point where they could break. This is a horrible product and I definitely do not recommend.

Sad then — cage okay for new hamster
And 2 hrs later. 3 cut pipe cleaners i got the cage together. It'll do. Its bot bad w pipe cleaners for safety. The wheel is too small for anything but a robo or mouse so I bought a kaytee syrian 10” wheel and rearranged the platforms and tubes. Butterbeans weekend cage is ready. Oh and snap rings are difficult to snap. Also these tubes do not fit together with critter trail or habitrail but you can add separately and those do connect together. Okay i got another hamster. This cage is awful. Im I using pipe cleaners to put it together!! Its now too late to return. The hook edges are too long to connect it together properly! Im sure once i jerry rig itll work for a weekend cage as my hamster is at work, but buyers beware, cage is difficult to set up and you will need pipe cleaners to twist on corners. At 4 months of age my baby syrian hamster died day before i got this cage for home. I can’t even rate this. She lived at work. Im so sad the box still sits at the front door unopened. I believe she ate the chain off the toy hamster treat dispenser. Sad sad sad. If and when i get another ill rate the cage. Can’t even muster up to send it back. 😔

Solid enough to keep the cat out!
I'm not sure if other people got faulty cages or if they had way too high of expectations for it because I think it's a decent cage for our little dwarf hamster. Assembly wasn't that difficult and it held up fine the one time our cat knocked the entire thing over onto its side. The wheel is a little noisy but it doesn't bother us and I'm impressed by the water bottle because it doesn't leak at all. Only real annoyance I have with it is that the floors don't sit very well on the cage wires so I had to figure out my own reinforcement for those. Oh, and the tube that goes from the side to the top of the cage isn't great just because it's so steep that my little guy can't go down it. He still can climb up and actually tends to sleep right in the bend at the top. I'm hoping it's compatible with other brands so I can modify it and make it possible for him to use it in both directions. Overall, it's a solid option and I'm happy with it

its the most appropriately sized one on the market for mice specifically
this cage is probably the only one you can find right now that isnt too small for mice. everything else is too small or can easily be escaped from. that being said it still has issues. i cant recommmend this for hamsters as they need more digging and hiding space than climbing they arent big climbers. i would not recommend this for anything other than mice. and not even all the cage options in this listing would work great. just the largest one that has 5inch tray not the 3in tray. pros - dont get the shallow tray one as mice need digging space, the 5 inch deep tray is probably as shallow asyou could go. that tray is ok for digging space, its a decent size for mice overall, they enjoy the tubes, the tubes are large enough for them to turn around. its large enough to fit appropriate size wheel. the mice could not escape theough the bar spacing. you want to fill the tray up completely with substrate so they can make chambers. cons - not very good instructions, very difficult to assemble, you have to reinforce the top by tying wires to the areas that have nothing holding them to the other bars. otherwise id fear escapees would be possible. the tubes are very hard to assemble. when you have to clean the cage, removing and replacing the platforms is a huge pain. the clips that hold the cage down seem to not have replacements to buy which is not good overall if you cant make your own enclosure and have mice get this just expect it to be hard to put together and maybe get help for it

It’s amazing! Very secure and strong.
Don’t listen to those negative nellies in the other reviews... this cage ROCKS! I set mine up a little bit differently than the sellers image. I installed a larger 8.5” wheel and placed the house, tubes and platforms inside a little differently to accommodate the larger wheel. I also put a second food dish for hay and a tree stump home on the floor. The wheel that’s comes with the cage is really tiny and not the best. But it’s still cute so I installed it anyway. I don’t see what everyone is complaining about. The instructions more than sufficed. I honestly didn’t even need them. It’s pretty easy to figure out. The cage is sturdy and secure. The only thing was a piece of a plastic tube had a crack in it. But since it was for a tube that goes on the inside, I assembled it anyway. It’s fine. If it were a tube leading outside of the cage, I’d probably let that affect my review. Also, some of the tube halves aren’t deburred enough where they were snapped from whatever form they were attached to from the factory... a quick snipe with a pairing knife deburred it and made the seams flush and snap together. Again, not a big deal. As we speak Princess Peach (our Robo Hamster) is thoroughly enjoying this new cage. It’s very spacious and you can tell she’s excited. Her original cage was a Critter Trail... P O S! Never buy that monstrosity. Nothing about that cage was secure and we replaced it with this one immediately. Do your hamster a solid, buy this cage. A little common sense makes assembly easy.

4 stars for size and included accessories. 1 star for everything else...
The wheel is small (maybe 5in?) so suitable for dwarf hamster maybe or mice, but not at all for rats or Syrian/teddy bear hamsters. The shelves/levels are easy to dislodge, and a bit tricky to reset. Our hamster keeps knocking the lowest shelf off the cage wires, and raising it makes the other levels and ramps wonky (the upper left level would have a ramp that leads to nowhere/is unusable because of the top tier cage side construction). While constructing the tubing, it seems like the connection rings are tight and sturdy, but with little effort, the tubes disconnect from each other and the doors they extend from. The weight of my hamster is enough to pop them apart at the top. We had to adjust the positioning so it lays across the top of the cage (instead of suspended as shown in the pictures) to keep the tubes from popping apart. On either side of the top tier, the tube that runs the outside attaches to a door. If you try to use that door, the tube disconnects after about 1in of opening. Additionally, on the side that displays the wheel attachment in photos, the tube entrance/exit is too high to be usable without adding a box or ramp for your little friend. The main door size combined with ramp and tier placement makes it extremely difficult to reach into the cage to interact with/remove your little buddy, or even grab the food dish. Construction instructions leave a bit to be desired. My husband went based on photos and counting wires. It does come with many accessories, and maybe for tiny mice and dwarf hamster, the sturdiness that it's lacking for our needs wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, in our case, we have a new cage on the way and will be returning this one promptly.

Great price, need gorilla glue for tubes
Great product for the price! The instructions though were hard to follow so I just mimicked the image to put it together. Putting the tubes together were kind of a pain. The above tube structure would come crashing down and I put it together again like 6 times before I decided to just get Gorilla Glue and glue the joints so it will stay. Overall I am pretty pleased with the product, I can’t wait to put a gerbil inside.
