Yes it's difficult to put together but for the price and the size I think it's well worth the extra time figuring it out. Perfect for my daughter's Chinese dwarf hamster. Just wish there was a pull put tray for cleaning because the bottom tube connectors make it hard to sit flat when cleaning.

I usually never write reviews. However, this product was so bad to the point where I just had to say something about it. When I was looking for a new home for my newfound hamster, I wanted to get the best quality items for her. I bought snacks, bedding, and what I had remaining was a home. I found this cage and was reassured by other 5 star reviews and how trusty this looked. When it came, I was quite disappointed. The assembly was not only complicated, the instructions were not specific at ALL. I made so many "U-turns" and had to fix so many problems. In the end, I finally got it built. However, the cage was flimsy and weak. After through research, I figured out that the base was also many inches too shallow for my hamster to comfortably burrow. My hamster was also able to escape the cage. Imagine what would've happened if I wasn't there to see it and catch her. The tubes were also horrible. My hamster couldn't even climb up them, even after changing their positions so many times. Lastly, the ladder that was provided to get to the platform on top was full of risks. My hamster's feet could get stuck at anytime and even hurt her legs even to the point where they could break. This is a horrible product and I definitely do not recommend.

And 2 hrs later. 3 cut pipe cleaners i got the cage together. It'll do. Its bot bad w pipe cleaners for safety. The wheel is too small for anything but a robo or mouse so I bought a kaytee syrian 10” wheel and rearranged the platforms and tubes. Butterbeans weekend cage is ready. Oh and snap rings are difficult to snap. Also these tubes do not fit together with critter trail or habitrail but you can add separately and those do connect together. Okay i got another hamster. This cage is awful. Im I using pipe cleaners to put it together!! Its now too late to return. The hook edges are too long to connect it together properly! Im sure once i jerry rig itll work for a weekend cage as my hamster is at work, but buyers beware, cage is difficult to set up and you will need pipe cleaners to twist on corners. At 4 months of age my baby syrian hamster died day before i got this cage for home. I can’t even rate this. She lived at work. Im so sad the box still sits at the front door unopened. I believe she ate the chain off the toy hamster treat dispenser. Sad sad sad. If and when i get another ill rate the cage. Can’t even muster up to send it back. 😔

Very cheaply made. The platforms are flimsy and difficult to put in. The tubes are very cheap, hoping the hamster doesn't chew through it all and get out. With how flimsy it is I'm surprised anyone with a bigger breed would want it. Probably costs all of $3 in manufacturing costs. Update after a couple weeks:. Upgraded from 1 to 3 stars. Happier than I was now that the pain of first time assembly is done. Hamster wheel is too small, so I bought a bigger one that has the wire cage attachment on back....adjusted platforms and attached it. The platforms squeeze in between bars, would have been nice to know before I cracked one squeezing it in. The hamster likes the house too much...filled it with bedding and stays in it a lot. Not too bad to Clean....unhook the cage, lift it off and put on cardboard. Hamster can stay put while cleaning bottom. Plastic is still flimsy but holding up ok. Update 11/20/19 - One year later, its fine, glad I got it.

Took a bit to figure out why the connectors were plastic and chewable, but they worked and even if my fingertips were a touch sore from trying to clip the corners, it worked. It is odd though that the cage itself doesn't just clip into the base. Everything clicks together, but also clicks out of place quickly. Even built, the tunnels could be knocked apart if handled too rough so maybe not elbow level around little kids. I didn't trust the handle at all since the base is very loosely connected and the clips for the sides did not latch at all. Mice liked the wheel and tunnels. The bottle was a touch small but we had a nicer one we ordered that stays attached and we can just fill from the top outside the cage. House was okay for our mice, but a larger hamster I could see being crowded. The food bowl was good, but they could move it and knock it around easily. Until the mice were comfortable and started exploring, this worked okay for them even with those issues. Once they were used to the new cage though.... started sleeping in the tunnels and using the cage as a play area. Our bigger male mouse kept finding a way out so we tried several times to see where he was getting out but no avail. We thought we had finally figured it out with the door clamp holding two bars apart... but wasnt it. One day I came home and both were out. I opened the cage, both were out again. This time one of our bigger animals found them so now we have nothing to put in the cage lol Keeping it in case the youngest wants to try a hamster or if we go back to rats. But was really bummed that we spent this much on something that says mice and they were able to escape easily

Excelente tamaño, fácil de armar y el espacio es bastante bueno para la mascota, los túneles son sencillos de armar pero muy divertifmdos para el roedor, Excelente producto
