Good read but for foul language.
Overall I really liked most of the book. Well written with good character development.I took a star off because of Lucy's language.Once she found love and got over her anger itimproved.I know her anger caused it but I really don't enjoy f bombs and other curse words. Her irreverence bordered on disgusting.I guess I am old fashioned. The descriptions of Italy and the food was excellent.

Captivating storylines, beautiful descriptions of scenery, fantastic book!!!
As an avid reader, I think I've read a LOT of really good books. This one though...it easily ranks in my top five favorites of all time!! The storylines and character development kept me enthralled from the very first chapter. Having traveled to Italy, Ms. Nelson Spielman's vivid and accurate descriptions of Italy transported me right back to the beautiful country. While the story wraps up very nicely with some interesting twists and turns along the way, I can't help but feel this family would make for an epic novel series. I just purchased three more copies to give as gifts. Put this book on your "must read" list!

Story of Loss, Love and Hope
Just finished. I'm gushing. Loved the premise of the book. A truly delightful story of family and lost love only to be found again. Makes me want to go to Italy (a bucket list item for sure!). The author does a fabulous job of describing the sights and sounds of a land so foreign to Americans. From Bensonhurst to Venice, the story of Emilia, Lucy and Poppy is heartwarming. I highly recommend!

An easy summer read
Just did a road trip from WI to Santa Fe, it drives my husband crazy, but I read the entirety of the book in the car. It was definitely a pleasant read and I always enjoy being reminded of my time in Italy. The family dynamics are probably real for a lot of folks, so that when our heroine overcomes being treated like a door mat, you do want to cheer.

Familial secrets, lies, truths, love. You won't be able to put this book down!
Lori Nelson Spielman has done it again! She entices the reader into her story of a family's generations of a curse, the lies that surround it, and the ultimate healing truth. I was hooked from the first chapter and loved how the story remained unpredictable, surprising my emotions over and over. Poppy's story is heartbreaking and lifegiving. I want to have coffee with her and Emilia in Tuscany!Lori Nelson Spielman writes fiction, but her books invite us into the reality of our own lives as we spend time with her characters - she takes us on a journey. The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany is breathtaking. Share it with your mother, aunt, sister, daughter, friend. A great Christmas gift!

Wow... exceptional novel. Couldn't put it down.
Wow... this book was so well written and in grave details I personally felt myself transported to Italy! It captured the more realistic mental thought process in the characters Emilia/Poppy, it was very relatable and real. From the family gritty dynamics, the souls of the character, parts filled with pure joy between the characters, exploring new places, the heartbreak... everything! I enjoyed it. I can't say enough good things about the entirety of this novel. I will recommend to anyone I know if they are looking for a book to lose themselves in. I read it in 2 days!

The perfect escape to Italy to find love, friendship, and family.
I enjoyed this book immensely! Took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but after that I was hooked. Just what I needed right now...something light and funny but with a few unexpected twists.

Outstanding!
One of my favorite books this year! An Italian family so close, and yet, going to America became so important to them all. A daughter who falls in love with a German who is banned from her home by her father. Her sister so completely insecure she was willing to do anything to hold on to her husband. I don't want to give away the story, so I will only way the book gets sad, and then very happy in the end! Don't miss this book.

Italian Adventure and pure escapism!
This book was a delight to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The author successfully transported me to Italy with her descriptions of the towns, food and I just felt fully immersed in the Italian culture. The story of love, family ties, betrayal and freedom completed this wonderful novel.

totalmente recomendable
Una historia que va creciendo conforme la lectura avanza mientras te pierdes en la belleza de Italia. Una historia que muestra amor, resilencia, perdón y recordarnos que “es posible”
