Usable Space limitations
The Safe arrived without any installation instructions or mounting hardware. There was a small dent/crack on the bottom of the interior. Not worth making the effort to return. I am disapointed that most of the middle interior space is not usable. The locking mechanism uses of 54 square inches of the available interior space to store valuables. There are twelve mounting holes of which only nine are accessible. The other three are blocked by the locking mechanism and would require removing the door to use. The safe has a nice looking exterior and offers moderate protection against a theft where they want to get in and out of the proerty quickly.

Nice Quality Between the Studs Wall Safe
This safe has two metal shelves and enough room to hold 3 full size handguns. Although the locking mechanism takes up some room on the inside I was still able to store a gun in the area behind the lock and keypad. The touchscreen is responsive, lights up and stores two different codes. Comes with a backup power supply and override tubular keys. Has an 11 gauge steel door but the back and sides which are hidden in the wall are much lighter steel. Has 12 mounting holes for screws (not included) and I was able to access all but one hole for mounting using a battery powered drill (the one remaining hole was blocked by the locking mechanism). One problem I came across was the door rubbed on the bottom of the frame making it hard to open. I noticed the door rotates on some flat washers on the pivot point so I cut a washer in half and press fitted it on the hinge point. That raised the door up slightly and now it's very easy to open. Still, it's something that should have been caught at the factory. I also added felt to the shelves so items don't slide around. As of Dec 21, 2012 the keypad displayed with the picture of the safe is incorrect. Instead of a keypad the safe now comes with a touch screen.Overall, I'm pleased with it and I think it's a more secure safe than those you chain to your bed or bolt to the floor.

Buy a Paragon wall safe
Very disappointed! Digital lock failed, so I was not able to open the lock with the programmers combo. Then, I found out that the cylinder key barely works either. It takes me a god 45 seconds of jiggling the cylinder back up key to be able to open the lock for the safe. Ridiculous!
