Good story

This book picks up a bit after the first (Inherit the Stars), in a completely satisfying way.It's honestly VERY difficult to say much without continual spoilers. Trust me; this is VERY RECOMMENDED. If you love "hard" science fiction at all, you'll like this book (the entire series, actually)....

The Gentle Giants of Ganymede was the first science fiction book that I read. It started me on the path to becoming a lifelong voracious reader. The fact that is still remember the title after 40 years should speak volumes about the quality of the story.

I enjoyed the book but I didn’t think was as good as the first volume “Inherit the Stars.” As expected, it describes the evolutionary background to the plot of Minerva from Volume 1. It also describes the interactions between the Earth humans and the Minervans / Ganymedians (is that a real word?) as their huge space craft approaches Earth.

Didn't care for it with all the focus on evolution. Bah
