It works as expected. Quality is not excellent, the product finish is a little poor but only if you look very closely. Overall works great, provides a stable HDMI connection and charges the laptop if plugged to a power source. For £9 you don't need to look any further, highly recommended.

The charging on this is OK for phones, but definitely not for a laptop. Most laptops with USB-C need 60W or more (mine is 96W). Tablets are usually more like 15W so this isn't that good for those either.So if you can charge with a different USB port, this adapter is totally fine. But for people with a single port computer or tablet, you will need to buy a more expensive adapter like the Apple one.

I needed an Ethernet connection and a USB connector (the bigger one, not USB C) and an HDMI connector. This little device delivered all three and works perfectly. Small and light, so easy to throw in a bag as well. Recommended if you have a laptop, like me, which has no external HDMI or other display port, and no LAN port, and only USB C built in.

On first glance the dongle looks fairly well made however now that I've used it for a few days I have to admit that they've been very optimistic in advertising its functionality and I wouldn't rate it very highly as there are certainly much higher quality products out there even if they do cost slightly more than this one they're absolutely worth the premium. The video quality is inferior to using an older laptop with a dedicated HMDI output on an external screen; it's slightly grainy and there is a slight lag between the native and external monitor too. The biggest deal breaker for me is that they claim this dongle allows you to charge the laptop using the USB C power in port on the dongle. It does technically allow this function, BUT it will flag up on the laptop as a LOW POWERED CHARGER. So do not expect the same performance as you would get from charging via this method than plugging your charger directly into the laptop.But if you want a budget dongle that allows USB connectivity and HDMI out, and do not care about the quality and can use another USB C port on the laptop for dedicated charging, I'd still recommend it. But if you need a quality image on your external display ABSOLUTELY avoid this product.

Further to a MacBook upgrade i encounter usb c on my laptop for the first time. Bit of a pain as now had to look at hooking up a variety accessories when working at home, this has added just enough to allow me to attach my keyboard without losing a charging port and still have a port free to run an additional display.Given the cost of a complete docking station, which in my case needed external software which was not compliant with my operating system, this has been a perfect, cost effective alternative
