This Excellent Book Tells About The History Of Grand Teton National Park.
This book tells about the interesting history of Grand Teton National Park. Some of the interesting information that this book mentions is as follows: Wyoming Senator Clifford Hansen was from the tiny town of Zenith, which no longer exists. Grovont town's name was changed to Kelly in 1909. Jackson Hole Airport is the only airport within a national park and is now the busiest airport in Wyoming. John D. Rockefeller, Jr. formed the Snake River Land Company in 1927 to purchase over 33,000 acres of land, which he later donated to the Federal Government for the express purpose of creating Grand Teton National Park. Grand Teton National Park became a National Park in 1929. The park expansion of 1950 encompassed the lakes and portions of the valley. The Grand Tetons stand over 7000 feet above Jackson Hole. Unlike most mountain ranges, the Tetons lack foothills and rise sharply from the valley's floor. Mount Moran is named after artist Thomas Moran.

The Grand Teton National Park is such a beautiful place to visit
The Grand Teton National Park is such a beautiful place to visit, and I loved reading Kendra's book on the history of the park and all the years it took to be preserved as a National Park. It has been several years since we visited, but after reading the book I'm ready to go again. I am grateful that there were people like John D. Rockefeller and the others for seeing that we will all be able to enjoy this beautiful place. I really enjoyed reading about the people who settled there! I recommend this book.
