Would not expect these to fall apart. Feel pretty close to the real thing, a bit like suede. The issue comes more from the fact that the buckles are for show only. You really need a second person to don these pieces unless you've learned how to tie knots one handed. They also need another piece to stop them from sliding down your wrists, and you'll get dents in your forearms if you don't want them to slide around.
