It works but you will need some extra weights
I use my iPad to read books and articles but I hate having to hold it. I bought this device to keep next to my recliner. It works great but I did have to add some weight to the base so it would not tip over. I do extend it all the way so gravity does make it tip.I used some old barbell weights secured to the base, works great !

Needs assistance with larger tablets
This is a versatile, well made stand for cellphones or tablets, but may need some assistance for larger tablets. For stability it is recommended that a weighted object be placed on the base of the stand to make it more difficult to tip over. The bracket that holds your device is not very deep, so while it works fine with cellphone in a medium case, you may need to remove your tablet from its case before placing it in the bracket to insure a solid hold in all positions.I have a Galaxy Tab S8+ (12.4"). The S-pen clips to a slot in the back of my case which adds to the overall thickness, and the bracket can't get a secure grip. Removed from the case, it holds my tablet quite securely. The other issue with my larger tablet is the weight. The springs that provide tension on the support arms appear to be at their limit with the larger tablet, which may cause the upper arm to droop. I replaced the springs on the upper arm with a pair of 7/16" x 3½" x .047 extension springs (Handyman SP-9667 ordered through Amazon). They only took a couple of seconds to swap out, and the slightly beefier replacement springs work perfectly.

Perfect for my needs.

It’s aight
I think if maybe the base was a bit heavier it wouldn’t wobble when you touch the screen. It’s not poorly made, but that gets slightly annoying. I also wish I had a bit more ability to swivel the iPad around

Absolutely love this thing
Ive used this for the past two years i believe and it has done its job. I have cat that always wants to sit in my lap so this helps when i do work. Only down side is that it may tip over in certain positions bc of the weight of the tablet (ipad 12'') so just be aware other than that this thing is perfect.

Not suitable for Surface Pro
I purchased this for use with my Surface Pro 7. While the cradle stretches far enough to hold the Surface, the final piece of the extendable arm is not strong enough to hold it up. I tightened the ring on the back of the cradle as tight as possible, but it still droops. The hinge just prior to the cradle's ball joint is also not strong enough to support the device and there is no way to tighten it. This piece has another flaw in its design, as the mounting screw interferes with the core as it rotates, causing wear on the core and the metal threads of the screw to shear off. I do not suggest this for larger tablets. Thankfully, I had another extendable arm from a similar proct that works with the base and is strong enough to support my device. Also, the base is not quite heavy enough to balance heavier tablets when the arm is extended outwards, though they do mention this on the product page (and suggest adding weight on it) and it makes the stand more portable.

Helpful IPad Pro 12.9 stand
Have been using this as a way to watch TV/do work in bed and also to hold my iPad up near my desk as a second monitor. In a straight line it has excellent sturdiness but does require a counterweight on its base as you extended the arm out with heavier items (aka big iPads). Would have like to see metal fasteners/knobs as I feel plastic overtime would wear down and not keep tightness. Keeps tension very well however, I never worry about it falling. The head has a ball joint that gives it a neck like range of motion. I’m 5’ 10” and if completely straight up this arm is probably close to 5’ 5” and it’s comfortable to use in standing position. I could see people using this to read music, use while doing yoga, or to hold up a recipe. For the price (40 minus a 10 coupon) it hits the nail on the head.

It's not a cheap Holder
The Tablet Floor Stand Holder is not cheap at considering it's simple design and materiel used although it's overall quality is OK. You can not only use it to hold tablet but also to hold cell phones.

So many uses!
Picked this one up on a whim and was a bit disappointed to find out that the arms would sag if I placed my 9.8" iPad on it. Went through the trouble of finding expansion springs (like the other reviewers mentioned) from Canadian Tire but they were too strong and couldn't get it stretch far enough.Free and easy solution: the expansion springs on the lower arm are shorter than the expansion springs on the upper arm. I just swapped a spring from the lower arm with a spring with the upper arm and problem solved. No more sagging with my iPad.

Good not great.
For the price it is ok. But I needed to buy another $40-50 worth of parts to make it work. 1) The clamp that holds the iPad is poo. It won't work with a case, and feels like it will scratch the iPad otherwise, upgrade for a bracket that fits and works $30 at least. 2) Also with an iPad 12.9 the base is not heavy enough to support the iPad weight. (DOH!) so needs a sandbag, weight, or furniture to weigh it down. Impossible to tell if others are better built or not. Great idea, average delivery.

Can hold tab s7+ for use while user is laying down on bed
I assembled it in reverse as suggested by the seller and it's able to hold my tab s7+ (without any case) just right for use while I'm laying down on a bed. In the photo it's really close to the pillow because I'm nearsighted, but it can hold it at a higher position/arc as well. The stand is not tall enough to be put on the floor, so it needs to be put on top of a side table next to the bed. I put some thick textbooks over the footer to guarantee it won't tip over.It appears I don't need to get a stronger spring for my kind of situation, which is nice (thx for the advice anyway, dear other reviewer).I'm using a wireless mouse so it's the perfect lazy set up to use the tablet. Imagine playing some games with xbox game pass and a wireless controller as well. Might as well turn my bed into a coffin.

Good quality, good value and versatile.
This is a great adjustable stand for our ipads. The quality of the stand is good, strong and durable. The base is heavy enough to provide good stability while extending the mechanical arm. There is good flexibility in the arm, and it is easy to adjust for the for the right viewing angle. We have tried it while in bed, while standing, sitting and it adjusted nicely to meet each situation. I have also used it as a music stand (sheet music on ipad) and it worked well. It is a little to heavy to be useful as a portable device and suits an in home or on stage usage. The srping design of the clamp that holds the ipad works well and adjusts to fit a range of different tablets. Overall, very happy with this stand, it is good quality, good value and versatile.

Love it!
I have a lot of neck problems and was looking for something that would hold my iPad at eye level and this is perfect. I use it while lying in bed and with the multiple angles, I can get it in just the right spot. The only “con” is that the arm has to be in the same direction as the metal stand that sits on the floor, otherwise, it will fall over. Definitely recommend.
