FieldsheerMen's Hi-Pro Jacket

Not perfect but decent for the price I paid
I bought one of these jackets at the end of August 2019 and paid about $135.00 for it in gunmetal gray and black. I have been wearing a hi viz vest over it lately and decided to start looking for another jacket in that color so that I could dispense with the vest. As I searched I looked to see if there might be one in the same model but in the color I wanted and lo and behold, Amazon listed one in my size in hi viz green, used for $66.00. Despite the shortcomings of this jacket, I jumped on it. The "used" jacket I bought still has all it's original tags on it so someone must have bought it, tried it on, disliked it and returned it to Amazon. Their loss, my gain. A truly effective cold weather 3/4 length motorcycle jacket for $66.00 is a steal IMO.Pros: Fits and looks great. I have ridden in the original jacket in temps of about 38 F and I was as warm as toast. I could not discern any place cold air was leaking in and overall it seems to do the job and be extremely comfortable. Lots of good pockets, good ventilation. Good protection over the zippers. The arm scoops actually work very well.Cons: The liner only zips in on the sides, then there is a bunch of loose fabric until you get to a 1 1/2" strip of velcro in the center at the top. I have cheaper jackets that do a better job of securing the liner. Then, the attachment points for the ends of the sleeves inside the jacket wrist area are truly pathetic. A thin elastic cord less than 1/8" in diameter stitched into the main jacket liner is all that attaches the sleeve of the thermal liner into the jacket sleeve itself at the wrist. The first time I rode for an extended period of time, from early morning when it was cold, to the early afternoon when things warmed up requiring me to remove the liner, that thin elastic cord tore free from the jacket liner. Really poor design and construction. Thankfully my mother has a decent sewing machine and I was able to stitch it back down. I reinforced all the elastic on both sleeves in hopes of heading off another similar failure. The thermal liner also only attaches with a single elastic cord on each sleeve, compared for instance, to my cheap Bilt jacket which has two much stronger attachment points for each sleeve at the wrist. If you buy this jacket the first thing I would recommend you do is to have those elastic loops reinforced with more stitching, if you think you might be taking the liner in and out. You could probably have this done for a few bucks at any dry cleaners that does clothing repairs and alterations. I own several jackets and I have a mesh one dedicated to warm weather riding so I do not intend to remove the liner in this one, ever. The zipper really sucks on this jacket, insofar as it is consistently difficult to fully engage the two halves so you can zip it up. This is likely the result of it having an utterly useless double slider on the zipper. It took me months to figure out the technique for getting it started every time without a struggle.

Great price
First, I'd classify these as a European fit. I usually take a medium to large size and I needed an XL in this. I used their sizing chart on their website and it was accurate which was very nice. Recently used this jacket for a 1300 mile ride. Windproof and mostly water proof though it did get a bit waterlogged at one point. Thankfully, I can't attest to it's crashworthiness. It was comfortable but I will note that it doesn't provide really good airflow. The sleeve vents aren't very effective.***Defective zipper attachment on left front chest pocket. Noticed 11/18/18 (3rd ride).

Looks good and great value for the cost
Good overall jacket. Lots of pockets and looks great. Removal liner is easy to take out and put in. Adjustments for fit at the waist and hand openings allow for more custom fit based on your preference. It's comfortable to wear in the mornings and evenings. The only minus is while it does have vents for summer riding there needs to be a few more in the front. It's tolerable but stops at the lights and slow speeds will heat you up. Only been through one light rain, but it kept dry on the inside. As for sizing. I bought a large as my normal jackets are and it was a good fit.

Quality Jacket at a Great Price
I struggle with the inflated price of motorcycle gear. My search for quality affordable gear sometimes leads me to junk, but I have been pleasantly surprised more often than disappointed. If you are looking for an affordable all season jacket with the same features of jackets priced 2-3 times higher; look no further. The $130 price likely represents clearance of last season's model and quantities are likely limited so don't delay.

Great jacket for the price
Great jacket for the price. It has kept me warm enough down to around 34* when layered over a fleece or zip up. I haven’t yet ridden in temps lower than this year. Overall build quality is good. I haven’t found any flaws yet. I’m not sure the included liner provides all that much warmth but I’m glad to have the extra layer nonetheless. There are plenty of zippered vents should I need airflow. Lots of pockets as well. The jacket has some torso adjustment if you need a little extra room. There are snaps around the arms as well. I’m 5’11” and 185lbs. My waist is a 31 or 32. I’m a little tubby around the gut and the medium fits me well. I would normally have gone with a large but in this case it would have been far too big. I wear large tshirts, hoodies, pullovers, etc... I chose the size based on arm length and chest size and that seems to have worked out for me. I don’t like the neck closer. I feel it’s slightly too tight. It’s not choking me but an extra half inch would have been preferred. Ymmv on that though. I think my neck is about 16.5” around. Overall I feel it punches above its weight and you’d be hard pressed to find anything better at this price. And jumping in price will only net you incremental improvements. If you’re on a budget, you’ll be happy with this one.

Kept me warm and didn’t restrict movement
I rode a motorcycle for about 40min at 40-60mph at 38F/3C in North Georgia and this jacket passed the test with flying colors! It kept my torso and arms warm despite only having a regular sweater under it. The wrists closed tightly to fit under the gloves. There’s no wind coming through at all, not even at the zippers. I bough the size indicated at the sizing chart but it was snug and so I had it promptly replaced by a bigger size.

Nice jacket and arrived early.
Product arrived a day early in perfect condition.Jacket looks nice and fits a little on the tight size. Feels comfortable and warm. Insert is removable, good. Elbow and other armor feels nice and safe w/o being bulky.

So so quality control
I like this jacket and I would have rated it 5 stars, however 3 things: one is the neck flap, the jacket arrived with a loop velcro stitched on both the neck flap and the collar, so no way to make this work. I ended using this jacket as I had a ride planned to Utah and by the time the seller reached back it was too late. I will fix the issue myself, however I would have expected better quality on a $140 jacket. The other issue is that this jacket runs a bit hot and the rainguard liner was not efficient in wet weather.
