I was reluctant to buy a whole new bed just because the mattress felt uncomfortable. The divan base is still in excellent condition, although very old, with drawers below and the room is tiny and only a 2'6" bed fits the space - hard to find a decent quality adult replacement. I spent a long time researching mattress toppers as a last ditch attempt to make the bed 'work'.So pleased I decided on this topper. I ordered the 4" deep version as it is for adults (me!). It arrived when expected, and soon sprang to its final size. It has a nice soft cover although I can't imagine it would be easy to replace on the mattress topper after laundering - too much friction with the spongey material. I was rather worried about the intense odour which is apparently totally safe - and left the mattress unrolled for 3 weeks before making the bed. By this time the smell had 90% gone. But I needed to make the bed and tidy the room. But I would definitely not want to use it straight out of the packaging...so allow time if you're planning on using it soon.I have now slept on the mattress topper for a week whilst family were visiting - and have slept soundly every night. No problem in sinking down and not being able to turn over etc. Just a very comfortable bed, for such a small cost. There are cheaper toppers but I wanted a thick one in a 2'6" size and this is perfect.I do have a very painful back problem and I can't say this has made any improvement - but it is definitely no worse. So I definitely recommend this to give new/longer life to an uncomfortable bed.

Really brilliant thick mattress topper but didn’t realise how hot you get sleeping on it, lovey for winter and we have had a warmer autumn but have woken up sweating sleeping on this, definitely not a breathable fabric. Very firm and I think it’s helped me sleep better with my back pain but won’t be using through summer sadly.

On my bed and great value for money

Since I got this my bed is so comfy that I don't wanna get out of it and it keeps it warm the only issue is that it got a verry strong smell of warhouse product to it and doesn't go away

I wasn't sure what to expect from this mattress topper as it was priced to cheaply but I've been pleasantly surprised! We were replacing our old one that we use on the sofa bed for guests and also as a camping mattress - I thought the old one was comfy but this blows that one out of the water! It's thin enough to roll up with straps and put in the car to take camping as an alternative to a blow up bed, but it's thick enough to be comfortable on it's own for a few nights in the tent. I've never slept so well camping, and it makes the guest sofa bed pure luxury! Would highly recommend.

The delivery was wonderful, ordered one day and received the next. The topping is proving to be very successful in reducing my husband's aching hips in the morning, providing a much more comfortable, and softer layer on the rather hard mattress on the bed. Thank you, let's hope it contiues with wear.

Wow!!!! My first night on my new mattress topper last night and I've woken up a brand new woman!!!! I have Degenerative Disc Disease, Spondylolisthesis, Osteoarthritis and nerve damage in my spine which leaves me in agony. I could never walk more than 5 steps without cursing or crying in pain as it radiated down my right leg and over my right hip. This morning I was able to get straight up, walk down the stairs normally and put some laundry in the machine! I'm in pain, but it's nothing like before. This mattress topper is a miracle!!It was packaged nicely, no odour from it, and it expanded beautifully after unfolding it. The corner bands are a helpful tool, too. I can't praise this enough! Amazing!! Far superior to my last one from another seller.

Bought this after my partner slept on one whilst staying at our daughter's flat (cat sitting!!). She said it was the most comfortable night's sleep she had experienced for a long time. (My daughter had it for her partner , who has a long term back injury). Accordingly we decided to purchase one. Having read the reviews that flagged up a strong smell with the topper and reading the manufacturer's instructions we let the topper air off for four days, rolled out in our living room (it started off having a strong odour, not unpleasant, but strong). After the four days the smell had, more or less, gone and we felt it was okay to put on our bed. Once it was on the bed we both agree that it is very comfortable and helps my partner with her back, which she injured a while back. It resumes its' shape fairly quickly and does not move around on the bed, the straps holding it firmly in place. We tucked our fitted sheet under the topping itself, rather than the mattress and that seems to work well. With the extra height it would have been a struggle to tuck the sheet under the mattress itself, so this seemed a logical compromise which has, so far, worked. Size wise it is a good fit on our king size. Overall we are happy with the topper and are sleeping better than with just a mattress. Whether all this will be the case in twelve months time I do not know, but I am optimistic that it will.
