The Orginal Buddy Bowl 1/2 Gal Clear

We had a newfoundland puppy and as cute as he was, he constantly drove us crazy by knocking water out of his bowl and turning our house into a swimming pool. This bowl was the ONLY bowl that stopped it (and trust me, we tried EVERYTHING). He occasionally dipped a paw in to get it wet, but he couldn't keep up his splashing and that made a huge difference.The lid is very hard to remove (which is partly what makes it puppy-proof) but we found filling it without removing the lid worked fine. It was hard to clean but whenever we had a stronger guest over they were able to help us get the lid off. Overall the bowl taught out puppy not to play in his water, and he's now able to use a larger refilling bowl (thank god, newfies drink a LOT of water). We still use this bowl in the bedrooms though in case he gets any ideas.We bought several of these and one did break, but only because our 110 lbs. puppy chewed it up. It took him a while even at that, but if your dog is likely to be unsupervised with the bowl and is enormous like mine, this may not work for you. We couldn't leave it in the crate with him because he ended up eating too much plastic.Overall I LOVE this bowl and I'm so grateful we finally found it.

This was recommended to me by my trainer. I have had dogs my whole life and had no clue what he was talking about when he said Buddy Bowl. This is the best ever! I have 4 big dogs and one is a puppy, who is bigger than all my other dogs. I had a floor that was ruined because of their water bowl. This bowl has changed my life!My only complaint is it's hard to open, but that does not really matter to me much since I am able to save my floor. I have found if I use a butter knife to get underneath the side, I am able to get it off better.All in all, it's been a life and floor saver! My puppy tried to play with it once, I told him no and he hasn't touched it since except to drink from it. I do have to fill it more often, but once again, no biggie since my floor is not being ruined!

I was skeptical but this thing is absolutely amazing. Some really smart engineer must have come up with it. Our 8mo old kept going after the dog water bowl, spilled it, tried to faceplant in it. We found this recommended after a google search and decided to try it. Holy cow, it’s a game changer. It’s literally impossible to spill any water. Plus his face is too big to get down into it so he can’t drown In the dog bowl (which is apparently a thing, yikes). Also I believe it’s been redesigned and is very easy to get the top off to refill or clean - I think the reviews having problems with this was an older model. This is really a must have for anyone with a dog baby combo for safety and prevention of spills

I had tried MANY types of travel bowls for my Border Collie. He is with me all the time on the ranch, while traveling back roads rockhounding or going fishing, or simply on trips to town. I had an older version of this bowl and was looking for another. Positives is that this thing is REALLY HARD TO SPILL water! I have dropped it upside down and only a little slopped out in the flip. It holds a lot of water, and it doesn't spill. The downside is that it is hard to remove the cover to clean and empty. I have to say the newer one is easier than my older one. And I LOVE the see-through plastic on the new one so you can tell how much water is in the bowl.I highly recommend this product! Get one for each vehicle so your dog is never without water!

This bowl is great! I have a German Shepherd Puppy who was drinking from a large crock indoors. She would stick her whole face in it up to her eyes, bring her head out and shake it madly with a mouthful of water, splashing for at least five feet and repeat as fast as she could until I could get to her. She would also dip her giant front paws in and out, run around slipping and sliding on the tile and wood floors. I thought I would have to kill her! I ordered this bowl. It is expensive. Probably too expensive, but so are my wood floors. I filled the Buddy Bowl with water and set it down. My dog stuck her snout in as far as she could, pulled it out, and shook her face...just a small splattering of water. Then she picked it up with her teeth and tipped it over. Just a small splattering of water. Then she tried to put her foot in it. It didn't work. Then she tried to chew on it for a minute. She looked at me, whined, and went and laid down. Now all she does is drink out of it. I LOVE it.

The bowl definitely works to slow down my dogs drinking. They seem to drink more water since it stays cleaner as well. However my big dog still splashes water out of the bowl when he drinks! I don’t know how since it is a great fit for his long nose-Doberman-but it still splashes all over the floor. Both of my dogs figured out how to drink out of right away. I have looked closely when the big one drinks and the water seems to just come out the sides of his mouth and his tongue just seems to throw water sideways to his mouth anyway. There is only about an inch of space around his nose to the bowl. Ugh!! The water gets on the bowl and up to 5-8 inches around it. If only he would use a straw?

We have been using these for many years and eventually after many years they do start to crack, but I mean many years. They are spill proof and everyone from my 13 year old Golden to his 10 year old younger brother to our new 5 month old puppy love them.The only thing I should mention is that they are a little hard to crack open to clean, and you do need to crack open 2-3x a week as they get ugly inside. The wife cannot open it on her own she always has to get me to do it.

We bought this because our toddler kept tipping the dog bowl over multiple times a day. This works like a charm! No spilled water anymore and the dogs can easily drink out of it.
