Great, affordable substrate
This was a great item that filled my 48-quart monotube perfectly. In just a few days, I could see mycelium spreading. The substrate had just the right amount of moisture, and judging from the spread of the mycelium, it was free from contamination and had the proper nutrients to make my mushrooms grow. I'm looking forward to harvesting my mushrooms in the coming weeks.

High quality substrate
Substrate came packaged very securely. It is moist not dry and is very high quality. The substrate is sealed and packaged in a protective layer. I like the extra measures taken to prevent contamination.

Outstanding Mushroom Substrate
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Perfectly Prepared Substrate – Highly Recommended!** I cannot say enough good things about this mushroom substrate! From the moment I opened the bag, I could tell it was perfectly hydrated and expertly prepared. The consistency was just right—neither too wet nor too dry—which made it an ideal environment for rapid colonization. I’ve used this substrate for two monotub setups, and the results so far have been outstanding. Both tubs are colonizing beautifully, with strong, healthy mycelium spreading evenly throughout. Even more impressive is that there has been absolutely no mold or bacterial growth—something I've struggled with using other substrates in the past. If you're serious about mushroom growing and want a reliable product you can trust, this substrate is a game-changer. It has made my cultivation process so much smoother and more successful. I will definitely be purchasing again!

Best bulk substrate I've found online
This is the best quality bulk substrate I've found on Amazon and it's decently priced considering you won't have to seal it or pasteurize it yourself. I have purchased 120 lbs (12 x 10 lbs) of this so far and I have not had any issues with it whatsoever. I've had 100% success rate on spawn to bulk transfers - you can really feel the quality in it when you are breaking it up. I've had amazing yields from this substrate as well, with very healthy results. I will definitely be purchasing again before I can make my own and I'll probably even buy some after that to compare production rates. I commend the makers because this is not an easy product to make consistently and produce such quality results.

Great Stuff, but costly. Make your own Substrate.
Great stuff, but costly with expensive shipping. Worked great in a 66qt tub, but learning how to make your own substrate is much more cost efficient and pretty easy. I only recommend this for those that don’t care about cost and want to grow mushrooms for a 1-time project.

Great products from a small business
I'm still relatively new to growing. I've prided myself in doing everything myself, along the way. I've compared my progress and skill by purchasing from other reputable vendors. To my surprise. After ordering, I realized Mycohaus is less than an hour away. Most products are made to order. I've had great success with this substrate. Looks and smells great. Secure, stabile packaging. The price is competitive. I'd easily order from Mycohaus in the future!

Sterilyzed substrate is more prone to contamination than growing mushrooms!!! DO NOT BUY!!!
I wish I had noticed it says sterilyzed instead of pasteurized. Sterilyzation leaves the medium wide open to contaminants to move right in. Pasteurization doesnt kill all microbes! Those microbes dont hurt your mushrooms and they keep trich and fuzzy molds away. I bought 2 and used one that got 3 different molds within a week of mixing spawn with a thin casing to cover exposed grain. I had already started making and pasteurizing my own substrate using the bucket Tek by the time I decided to try it. (Look it up. There are videos.) It was the only tub that got hit with contamination even though trich from this substrates contamination was in the air. None of the tubs with my pasteurized substate got contaminated. Its packaged nice and it's what they say it is. The problem is people might be inexperienced or bye it by mistake. Through all this I've learned that sterilyzed substrate is such a crap shoot that I'm not even gonna use the remaining 10lb bag for shroomiez. I'll probably mix it into my San Pedro cactus soil with a bunch of perlite and take a big L on this purchase.

Great substrate that colonizes fast
First off, if you're getting contams, you have a problem with your method most likely. This product is nearly idiot proof. If concerned about this product, you can simply let it sit on a shelf for a couple weeks to ensure it's contamination free. While it may look dry, the moisture is actually quite good/deceiving. I bought a two pack. I used them 2 months apart and still had the exact same results. Because of the outer seal, no moisture is lost. Mycelium grows really fast. Sure you could buy coir and vermiculite and gypsum etc and make your own bulk but this stuff works great if you don't have the time or desire to do so. At ~$30 per 10lb bag after shipping, the cost per yield is more than worth it. 10lbs goes a LONG way.
