Heavy Duty LP Leather Conditioner Natural Oil Beeswax Formula (8oz)

This stuff is simply great, easy to use smells fine and lasts. I apply to any footwear or leather I give a darn about. It won’t last forever as a waterproof treatment, 2-3 years maybe but it will last as a leather treatment to recondition sad leather. If anyone remembers Snoseal, the whole place in oven to warn, this stuff melts on hand contact. The temp of your hand is all you need and this makes it easier to use. Like all quality products you only need a little bit. I find the process strangely relaxing.

I bought this product for my shoes and an old leather chair. It works fantastically at reviving my shoes and bringing the leather back to life. The leather on the chair was a bit more damaged than the shoes, but it did a fine job adding moisture and pliability to the leather. I actually ended up using it on my old baseball glove that has not seen any care in a decade at least, and it feels like it is almost brand new after one application. I will do another in a week or two, and it should be excellent. The look of the product is a light tan, and the look of the leather afterwards is great, very well moisturized, but I cannot speak to the color match because all my leather was already black, but it does warn it may darken leather. It is the consistency and thickness of wax for a beard or hair, and it melts pretty well when applied at body temperature. It is a little difficult to get off your hands, though, so use gloves or just use a cloth, but with my baseball glove, it was easier to just use my bare hands to get in all the crevices. It is not sticky; it just makes your hands waterproof for a day or so. The instructions are simple to follow, and the conditioner is easy to apply. I would recommend it.

WOW! I am in my 80's have worked with leather products most of my life. This is the best product I have ever used with leather. Good example I have a ww2 bomber jacket that needed nourished. This product did it and did so beautifully. It looks and feels brand new. No work, just rub it in. No smell except fresh leather. I rarely give a product a review like this one.

Best waterproofing and leather care product I have used. Melts easily, not sticky, pine tar & bees wax make this an excellent choice / product, easy to apply, makes leather look rejuvenated like new.

Amazing product that your leather will love! I used it bags, boots, chaps, jackets ALL with unbelievable results. Check out the before and after photo of some motorcycle leathers that were stored in a closet for 20+ years! I highly recommend for all your leather items.

Originally thought this was too thick to be of any real use. But upon application a little goes a long way on the leather. Really spruced up some older leather furniture.

Man, I love this stuff for conditioning boots! I find the LP works best if I apply it by hand, since it warms the product and makes it easier to spread. I go heavier on the welts with Goodyear welted boots, simply because the welt, while water resistant, can only resist so much water before your foot gets wet. When rubbed onto the boot, it doesn’t affect the boot’s color. The leather stays true to color, just a shade or two darker from the conditioner. I’ve found the LP protects boot leather from water, chemicals, and paint. Granted, I needed paint thinner to pull the paint off of my boots, but Obenauf’s conditioned the leather like new again. The product is more of a balm texture instead of oil, which I prefer. I usually rub in the excess with a towel, and the stuff left over protects the boot! I would recommend Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP for anyone who needs good protection for their leathers. I’ve used this stuff on jackets too and it works like a charm. If it’s good enough for firefighters, it’s good enough for me.

amazing, in fact magical. i have a lot of leather motorcycle jackets and western, as well as hiking, boots. so i'm not a neophyte when it comes to conditioners and preservatives. but i'd only purchased the liquid kind, and good brands. this stuff is leagues beyond oil or liquid leather condidioners. bought it to darken several pairs of cowboy boots that the better leather oils/liquids did not really affect...including not really getting rid of the dryness of some boots, mostly new for that matter, that came dryer than i'd like. the pairs of lucchese, justin and dan post didn't really show any difference from the oils/liquids after they soaked in and a month had gone by. so i figured there is something to using a thick cream/paste with a great reputation like obenaufs. and indeed there was. first, it darkened (as i wanted) a full shade a much too light golden brown pair of justin bent rail distressed boots. at first it took some of the distressing away, but as the cream dispersed fully into the leather from the surface layer, some of that richness and 'damaged distressed' look came back, including the depth and richness of the leather. next came the hard case, a pair of dan post distressed square toe apache 'earp' boots. have to say the uneven leather texture on these went beyond distressing, they had creases in inappropriate places (where wear would NOT take place) plus the color variation looked dopey, with the toes very dark like they'd been dipped in chocolate, and the rest of the boot with better looking variation. they were also dry as a bone (and that's NEW). i'd already tried to darken and condition them a bit, but the oils, didn't help even after 2 applications. the LP was a different story, applied after a slight warming and partial liquification in my hand, it went into the leather like water in a dry sponge. the variety of shades from the distressing disappeared into a deep rich brown, which at least took away the chocolate-dipped toe look. BUT within several days the depth and richness of the distressed leather came back to a much lessened extent, but at least it looked real than the overdone original manner. as the obenaufs dispersed deeper into the leather, drying into the boot...the magic began. on boot trees, the leather began to reform and tighten around the boot trees, bringing great shape to the boots that they hadn't even had when i got them new a few months back...sorry dan post, but these had a rumpled and unequal look that was allegedly supposed to be 'distressing'. after the obenaufs conditioned the leather, and tightened their rumpled look, helping lessen some awkward dimpling and creases, i got the idea of laying obenaufs into some particularly ill placed creases and dimples on one of the boots, figuring it might allow the leather to get needed moisture and conditioning so the creases and dimpled depressions could fill. for once i was right about something, and after a day when the cream i'd laid into those depressions soaked in, it indeed lessened the creases and dimples. a little working in with my fingers, and pressing to flatten, helped. after a second such application, i removed almost completely one bad crease that no kind of wear would have ever naturally created, and had probably occurred by leaving too loose leather on the original wooden last during (bad) construction. despite my problems with the original boot, after some work with the obenaufs, these are incredible...the best part being that virtually all of the dan post defects during manufacture were eliminated...and those that weren't, were lessened immensely so that if anything, they look like real distressing. amazing stuff!
