A Hard Read
While the pictures are good, and the book is printed on high quality glossy paper, the text is thick and hard to follow. There are too many facts crammed in without enough context, and the tone is relentlessly dull. One gains little sense of where each item fits into the overall picture. A confusing book.

Wrong information, a personal point of view of the history. There is no sufficient explanation of the artistic perspective, badly written with a lot of confusion

I ordered this book for my upper Art history class for Islamic architecture class which was so much fun. If you ever run across a Dr Morris please take her class immediately. She is amazing professor and a world class Art historian. I am keeping this book to help with traveling

Livro chegou em perfeito estado, entrega realizada muito antes do previsto pelo site! Veio embalado em plástico original e, para transporte, em caixa de papelão própria para livros. Fornecedor muito cuidadoso!

When I bought this book, I was taking an introductory course on Islamic art and architecture at a local university. Our class textbook, however, was written in such a convoluted, dense, unengaging manner that I dreaded doing my reading assignments. Hillenbrands book , though scholarly, draws the reader skillfully into the world of Islamic history. It covers much of the same material as my textbook, but Hillebrand is A WRITER as well as historian. I highly recommend the book to anyone beginning to explore Islamic art.
