You don’t necessarily get what you pay for
The over kit is as expected upon unboxing. It came with a small color manual which can guide a novice some. All of the parts are of decent quality but the machining of them was poor at best.Expected to spend two days building and fine tuning this project. The engine was poor manufactured. The engine is a split case which was mated together by someone in a huge rush. The two haves were off by as much as 1mm. May not seem like much but when that gap is where the head meets the case, it’s huge. Compression loss is the result leaving the engine weak, difficult to start and basically useless.I had to manually file the case smooth so the head could seat close enough. Then I had to add another gasket to make sure the gap was as close to filled as possible. The engine is a 100cc which I’ve owned similar in the past as a kid. The low end torque is practically nonexistent. You need to feather the clutch as you pedal before letting the clutch out. It’s a single speed engine, simplifing things, but limiting them as well.As for the good? Yeah there are some. Once case alignment was fixed, I could get it to idle pretty easy. I still need to mess with the jet settings to improve throttle response but you don’t have to.When riding on relatively level roads or trails, this little engine does well. It’s fun to ride. Even up hills, it definitely assists when pedaling. But I’m pretty sure more vacuum leaks plague this little engine which I’ll have to troubleshoot.Overall it’s a decent little engine if you’re not intimidated with wrenching on things. I’ll probably be upgrading the CDI and carburetor to improve preformance. What the kit comes with is very basic and if offered a kit with upgraded parts, I would have opted to go that route. It’s a simple setup, so it’s a fun project.Three tips:1. Don’t rush slapping this thing together. You will regret it. Go over the engine making sure bolts are tight, not missing or rubbing some where it shouldn’t. Lube the chain with chain grease to quiet it down and increase life.2. Plan ahead. Fit the engine into the bike frame taking into consideration where the carburetor with air filter with sit as well as the exhaust. Think through where you’ll want to run your clutch and throttle cables. Lubricant them before installing them with a light weight oil to increase cable life.3. Spend the $25 or so dollars for the two year warranty. This engine is basically sold as is with no returns. I’m not one to normally buy warranties, but if something castrophic happens, which I’m expecting will, you’ll be happy you have one.Lastly think of this engine as a factory reject from Honda or Yamaha that needs refinement. If you keep that in mind, you’re expectation will be realistic.

Good purchase
When I bought this kit it was roughly $150, I have had it for a while and it still runs good. The only problem was the rectangular mounting plate broke, but that was a cheap part, no big deal. So far no defects or problems, excellent product. All of my friends and co-workers are impressed by this engine.
