I didn’t notice a weird smell.

Of course, as a matter of fact, when you receive them, they will all be in the tote bag. I love my purses :)

Q: Is the inside zippered section sewn to the bottom of the purse inside?

Inside zippered section is not sewn to bottom and is not deep. However, there is no space beneath it. The zippered section is attached somehow to the other two sections which are not sewn to the bottom either. If you're looking for a deep zippered pocket, this bag is not for you.

Q: Is the feel of the materials comparable to Micheal Kors?

Yes it is. It's actually better quality than I expected.
